CHARITIES
Mer
er of the Tbree Charities- The Purton Ch&rilable Trust
In October 2024 we rnerged the three clwities into a CIO (Charity IllcorpoT8ted Organisation)
which has given us flexibility to source ￿llding, suppliers, services and administration. The new
charity is called 'The Purton Charitable Trl￿,.
Purton War Memorial and Villa
e Centre
The village centre continues to be the hub for our community with access to sporting facilities, play
parks and green open space.
The Purton Red House has colltinued to have its faiI share of challenges. Work was completed on
the new kitchen in May and th'e function room was redecorated to be used as the dining room. We
have successfully introduced a Sunday Roast menu which has proved to be very popular.
However, having said that, due to con¢¢ms by the charity over the f￿anCiaL situation, we were in
the difficult PO8ltion of deciding to closc the building unless an altemative solution could be found.
After consultation, deliberation and specialist indubty advice, in Febrn8ry 2025 a lease was drawn
to a third paty and the Purton Red House Ltd ceased trading. At time of writing no final accounts
OT details are available for publication, however as soon as they are they will be available on the
various platfonns required by law.
Thc Millennium Hall is sadly heavily under-utiltsed and does not create sufficient ￿rndS to cover
operation Losls and repairs. The charity will continue to research possible solutions for this.
Purton Insti￿te and Villa
eHall
The Village Hall now has refreshed windows and 2 new heating system and the Institute Building
has had major repairs to its windows inline with conservation xnd rep&ir. Unfortunately, like the
Millenium Hall, the village hall is also under utilised and will be reviewed alongside.
Th¢ grounds team have WOTked hard to reinstate a small garden area to the front of the Council
officelside of the library which IL4S helped with flooding issues and has added another greetL area to
our Carbon Neutral Policy with iJcreas¢d planting and buglbec habit.
Pla
Close
The Play Park is monaged by the Council with no cost to the Cbarity and continues to be well used
by tbe public with few issues. We anticipate new equipment Cl￿￿ge ill 2025 following public
consultation and a need to replace aging wooden equipment.
Finally, our councillors and staff would like to that]k the resid¢nts for their continued support at
events, hiring facilities and efforts in our community. We always etjdeavour, with passion and
commitmenL to serve the community we live in and love.
