Para 1.20 | Over the last year we have continued to build on the success of Southend Pride, as an organisation. We have continued to organise and run our monthly groups - Queer Climb, Youth Pride, Queer Well-being, LGBTQ+ History, and Queer Families - growing their membership and providing support for those who need it. We have delivered our LGBTQ+ training programme to more businesses and organisations, accrediting those organisations to raise awareness within the LGBTQ+ community that that organisation is inclusive and accessible. Throughout the year we proceeded in our regular work of organising events and commemorative occasions: Winter Pride Proud Poetry Volunteer Training Queer Families Picnics LGBTQ+ Film Nights Pride Month Flag Raising Pride Parade Pride Festival Transgender Day of Remembrance Flag Raising Queer Carols In addition we were a visible presence at various ‘outside’ events, where we were raising awareness of the LGBTQ+ community through information stalls: International Women’s Day Hamlet Court Road in Harmony South Essex College Southend Hospital Black History Month South East Asian History Month Over the past year we have continued to build partnerships with other community organisations and groups: Southend Unison Southend Museums The Ironworks All Rise Collective Southend City Council Transpire |

Para 1.21 | It is the policy of the Charity that unrestricted funds which have not been designated for specific use should be maintained at a level equivalent to between three and six months expenditure. The Trustees consider reserves at the level will ensure that, in the event of a significant drop in funding, they will be able to continue the Charity’s current activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional funds may be raised. This level of reserves has been maintained throughout the year. The Trustees have assessed the major risks to which the Charity is exposed, and are satisfied that systems are in place to mitigate exposure to major risks. |

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31[st] March 2024.
- Responsibilities and As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation basis of report of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”).
I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
