The trustees have paid due regard to guidance issued by the Charity Commission in decSdlng what actNities the
charity should undertake.
Charty objects are set out in the articles ol association, and the objects wefe amended by a special resolutK)n on
20 March 2023 following approval from the Charity commission under section 198 of the char(ties acl. Summary
of the objects are..
To promote social inclusion for the public beneff( by preventing people from becoming social exeluded, religving
the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them lo integrate into society.
For the purpos8 of this dause 'socially excluded. m8ans being &xcluded from $¢xiety, or parts of socEty, as a
result of ill h8allh Iphysical or mentall or disgbility.
Ananda9 Ltd adivilies are organised to achieve public benefit through activities in the community.
Ananda9 Ltd started as a small ofganisalion in 2017 and established as a nol-for-profil voluntsry organisation
and regis18red wrth eompany house on 20 May 2019. Ananda9 limited company is managed by management
committee membersltruslee who are nominated from carers and service users of Anandag. Ananda9 Ltd
become a charity on 30 March 2023 to serve the communities of LeKesler.
Ananda9 Ltd is a unique service for adults experiencing enduring mental ill health who require day to day
Iherapeulic ath'vilies, educational and social support to engagè in their community and promote social inclusion.
Charity has been supporting local people with m&ntal health difficutties by delivering services in their home and in
the community lo improve their quality of lrfe. Our aim is to help to feel frtter and healthier, to avoid social isolation
and feelings of loneliness, lo help build self<onhJen¢e, and to r8main living independently at home. We do this
through a variety of ways.. group activities that provide OPPDrtunilies lo improve fitness, develop new skills and
build confidence whilst providing emotional support and friendship wrth p&er$'. praclieal and emoth'onal one-to-one
support that improves the ability to slay living at home. We will need lo continue to develop innovative solutions
so that we meet the changing needs of our mental health community and find ways of providing support as gaps
form in the provision of public￿ funded health & social services. Our Strategic Business Plan for 202>2027
builds upon our Mission and Vision and sets out our strategy for the period within the context of local and
national challenges. The plan sets out sliate9ic objectives and priorrties lof the three years ahea. They
demonstrate our commitment lo securing resources and further bvilding our eapacily lo respond eff8Ctively lo
these challenges.

s¢xial inclusion and reduoe isolation. Day care gives opportunity to interact. rnake friends. re(luce lonelines$ ?nd
share experiences. This enables to improve individual mental health, mwntain indepandence and improved
quality of life.
Carers and farnily benefit as Ananda9 services hetrs and reduce the burden on familylinfomal earers.
Increasing their undèrstanding of mental hearth and able lo care better with the support of peer group and
professionals. This helps to rèduce stress 8nd associated health impacts on carers.

Charity organised 253 group sessions in the community during the year. There werg on averag8 30 people
attending each day. Total beneficiaries were 54 people.
Group sessions op8rat8d from Monday lo Friday in the community setttng at Wellspringl St Albans Centrt, on the
corner of Harrison rOad￿eYMOUth street in the Belgrave area of the Leicester city. Staff and volunleers are
muttilin9ual and able lo communicate in many south Asian languages. Transport is provided free of charge for
people who has been ass¢S5ed as needing this provision.
People who attend charity groups enjoy and bonefft from the following programmes. These are Iherapeulic
aclNities run by therapists and Ananda9 staff lo promote their wellbeing, social inclusion, confidence building and
independence. They benefit from activf(ies such as yoga, gentle exercise, flower arrarEing, basic computer
learning, and music, English as second language classes. Leisure adivilies ITable Tenni$, snooker. and board
gamesl, Art and craft. There were also s8ssion ftir personal health management fa¢i1rt8ted by extemal tutor. We
wort( in partnership with other agencies in the area. There were special programmes planned during summer
which includes outinglday trips. These promoted social inclusion activities in thè wider community. These
programmes are evolving in consultations with clients and their carers and professions involved with the charity.
We also provide 1..1 support service {non personal care) as commissioned by $o¢ial worf(ers to promote and
maximise indwidual's polenlial. Assist with their ¢grrespondence and liase wrth other IcLal authorrty departments,
beneff( agency and health professional as per the indNidual plan.
Transport is provided rf required with in the Leieesler cty limf(s. Ananda9 encourageslassists potential clients to
make their own way where possible. Aim is lo minimise the suffering and effects of severe mental health
diffKulties and re- integrate people into the community and enjoy a normal lrfe as possible.

It is the policy of the charity that unreslricled funds which have not been designated for a 8peetfi¢ use should be
maintained at a level equivalent lo belween Ihiee and Six month's expenditure. The trustees consider that
reserves at thi5 level will ensure that, in the event of a signrficant drop in funding, they wil be able to continue the
charity's CUT￿nt activities while consideration is given to ways in which additional fvnds may be raised. This level
of reserves has been maintained throughout the year.

The charity is a charitable company limited by guarantee and registered as a charity on 31 March 2023. 11 was
esloblished under a memorandum of Association which established the objectives and powers of the charitable
¢ynpany I'lhe chartty'l and govemed under its Articles of Association I'The Articles'l.
The Iruslees who held office during the financial year ale set out in the page 2 of this report. There has been no
hange to trustee5. Trustees Service for 3 years and sland for re- election. Trustees are invited lo join the board
of Iruslees by other Iruslees, by the manager lor board of trusteès to consider. Trustees are given a structured
inducts'on and training to the works of the charity. Included in the induction pack is infomialion issued by the
charity commission. There is also ongoing training about the policies an¢J procgdures of the organisation as
awarene$$ to 11$ requirements.
The directors of thg tharty as deffned by the Companies Act, are also charty trustees. for the purposes of
charity law. They are generally referred lo as the Board of Trustees. Board of Iruslees meet quarterty during the
a¢ccMJnting period and special meetings are called as when required.

Income is recognised when the charity is legally entitled to it after any perfomiance conditions have been
met, the amounts ean be measured reliabty, and il 18 probable that income wlll be received.
Cash donations are recognised on Teceipl. Other donations are reeognised once the charity has been

2.9. Leaslng and Hire Purchase Contracts
Assets obtained under finance leases are capilaSised as tangible fixed as$ets. Assets acquired under finance
leases are depreci81ed over the shorter of the lease term and their useful lives. Assets acquired under hire
purchase contracts are depreciated over their useful lives. Finance leases are those wherg substantially all
of the benefits and risks of ownership are assumed by tho charitable company. Obligation5 under such
agreements are included in the creditors net of the finance charge allocated lo future periods. The finance
element of the rental payment 1$ charged lo the statement of financial activtties so as to produc£ a constant
periodic rate of charge on the net obligation outstsnding in each period.

stocks and work in progress are valued al the low&r of cost and nel realisable value after making due
all¢)wancg for obsolete and slow-moving stocks.
Cost is determined using the first•in, firsl-out method. Cost in¢ludes all direct costs and an appropriele
proportion of fi'xed and variable overheads.
Work in progress is reflected in the accounts on a ¢onlraGI by contract basis by recording turnover and
related costs as contract activity prcyJr&ssès.
At the end of each reporting period stocks are assessed for impaim)enl. If an item of stock is impaired, the
identified stock is reduced to its selling price less costs to complete and sell and an impaimienl charge is
recognised in the statement of financial activities. Where a reversal of the impaiimenl is required the
impairment charge 1$ reversed, up to the or￿inal impairment loss, and Is recognised as a credit in the
stslemenl of finan¢ial ¥tivrties.
2.11. Cagh and Cash Equivalents
Cash and cash equivalents are bask financial assets and include cash in hand and deposits held at call wrth
banks. other short-lerm highly liquid investments that mature in no rnore than three months from the dale of
acquisition and are readily convertible lo a known amount of cash with insignrficant risk of change in value,
and bank overdrafts.
2.12. Foreign Currencl
Monetary asse15 and liabilities in foreign currencies are translated into sterfing at the rates of exchange ruling
at the balanee sheet date. Transoclions in foreign curTencies are translated into sterling at the rate ruling on
the dale of the transaction. Exchange diffeiences are taken into account In arriving at the operating surplus.
2.13. Taxallon
The char5ty is exempt from tsx as all its Ir￿ome is chantable and applied for charitable purposes.
2.14. Provisions and Contingoncigs
Provisions
Provisions are recognised when the charitab18 company has a present legal or construetive obligation as a
resuh of past events., rt is probable that an oufflow of resources will be Yequired to settle the obligation., and
the amount of the obligation ¢an be estimated reliabty.
whe￿ there are a number of similai obligations, the likelihood that an oufflow will be required in settlement
is determined by considering the class of obligations as a whole. A provision is recognised even if the
likelihood of an oufflow with respect to any one item included in the same class of Obl￿allonS may be small.

obligation using a pre-tax rate that reflects current market assessments of the time value of money and the

The charitable company operates a defined pension contribution scheme. Contribulion5 are charged lo the
statement of Financial A¢livilies as they become payable in accordance wrth the rules of the scheme.
2.17. Govemm•nt Grant
Government grants are recognised In the statement ol hnancial activrties In an appropnale manner inaT
matches them with the expenditure towards whlch they are intended lo contribute.
Grants for immediate financial support or to cover costs already incurred are recognised immediately in the
$tslement of finaneial activjties. Grants towards general activities of the enlily over a specrfic period are
recognised in the statement of financial activities over that period.
Grants towards fvxed assets are r8cognis8d over the expected useful lives of the Telated assets and are
treated as deferred income and released to the statement of financial activities over the useful lrfe of the
asset concerned.
All grants in the statement of financial aetivrties are recognised when all condf(ion8 for feceipl have been
complied with.
