Introductio
The fomi and layout of this annual report follows the Statement of Recornmended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by
Charities" {tevised 2005).
Board of Trustees
The trustees are also the directors of the colnpany. The number of trustees shall not be le55 than four or more than ¢leven. The
trustees comprise individuals nominated by tnetnbers of the Scarborough & District Cricket Developrnent Gmup (the"Nominated
Trustees"). together with up to seven individuals co-opted by the trustees (the "Co-opted Trustees"). Generally, trustees are
appointed for a three year temi and aTe eligible for one further three year term, although. if special circU￿stanCES require il
subsequent three year tem)s may be authorised by the trustees.
Investtnents
The constitution authorises the tsustees to make and hold investments using the general fijnds of the charity. There are currently no
investtnents other than the bank account.
Constitution, objects, and organisation
The Charity is a company without shar¢ ¢apital, governed by its memorandum and articles of association. The liability of members
in the event of winding up is limit¢d by guarant¢e to an amount not ¢x¢¢eding £1 per m¢mber. Th¢ Company is a registered charity
{re8iStered number 1 107 626).
The primary objective of the charity is th promote and develop cricket skillslparticipation in boroughs of deprivation in the
Scarborough & Ryedale area and surrounding areas by initially upskillingltraining coaches l order to provide cricket coaching and
equipment to encourage participation in cricket.
The charity aims to provide excellent Cricket coaching for children in the local area. The charity also seeks to increase the number
of junior volunteer coaches and cricketers by ¢ncouraging them to tak¢ up cricket and to use local cricket Club facilities and
qualified coaches associated with the charity.
The board of trustees is responsible for the governance and day to day running operation of the charity. There are no ernploy¢¢s.
The trustees consider theTe is no need for a formal induction alhd trainin8 programtne for the new tru5tee5 due to the size of the
charity.
Developments activities and achievements
The charity has helped several young adults to access National Governing B(Kly Qualification5- ECB Level l and 2 Certification
in Cricket Coaching. These young e(>a¢h¢s have since started Coaching for S&DCDG in local schoo15 andlor clubs.
The charity has also increased the number of junior participant$ in erieket by providing coaching courses during the winler months.
The charity fulfilled this aim by raising grants and donations to cover the cosi of sending coaches on courses and providtng sports
hall hire for coaching.
During the year ended 31 March 2023 the charity's objective was to ensure that this coaching happened and leaves a legacy in the
local area.
The charity's strategy for a¢hi¢ving this obj¢ctiv¢ is to keep lo¢al sohoo15 and clubs aware of th¢ coaching available to their
children 50 that the legacy continue5 in the futur¢.
The a¢tivities undertaken in the year rnet the objectives sel with five coache5 receiving ECB Qualifications and ¢oach¢5 ¢oa¢hing
crick¢t in 25 schools (coaching over 4,000 children of primary and secondary age).

The trustees would like to express their sincere thanks to all of the charities, tnjsts, organisations and individuals that donated Ojnds
towards the project. We would also like io thank the various organisations who provided grants to ￿nd the costs of the PToject.

The funding sources are grants received and donations received. This income is used io pay for Junior Cricket in the Scarborough
& Ryedale District.
The principal risks to the charity relate to the reduced participation in the game of cricket within our area.
Th¢ ¢harity'$ Posltion at the yeaT-end 15 that cricket is thriving in the local area with a large percentage of children having access to
¢oa¢hing and game play throughout the year. The trustee5 are happy with the position of the charity at the yeaT-end.
Plans for future periods
The charity's fiJNre plans are to continue to UP5kill local coache5 that can then continue tt> coach the cricketers of the fumre. It 15
also an aim to fijrther links with lotal schools and clubs, providing cricket coaching for all that are interested. The charity plans to
increase the number of qualified coaches that can be used to help with the junior coaching.
Volunteers and donated services
All the tsuste¢s receive no remuneration or pay from the work undertaken to run the charity. OtheT donated services including
sports hall hire have not been quantified or includ¢d in the accounts. Statement of Recommended Prd¢ti¢e "Accounting and
Reporting by Charities" only require5 donated services to be included in th¢ Stat¢m¢nt of Financial Activities where the benefit of
the charity is reasonably quantifiable and measurable.
Stat¢mellt of reserves policy
A ieserves policy has been detern)ined for the Association and the reserve has been quantified as having fimds available in the
bank account to cover at least six month's expenditure. This reserve has been quantified at £18,000.
Risk strategy
The trustees have examined the major strategie, busin¢s5 and operationul ri$k$ which the charity face$ and eonfirni that system5
have be¢n established to enable regular reports to be produced $0 that ne¢essary steps can taken to le$sen th05¢ risks.
Public Benefit
The charity's aims for public benefit are that it will provide excellent facilities for the advaneement of amateur sportlcricket. The
charity will make available coaching for ericketers of all junior ages, and will not restrict the coaching because of, gender, sexual
orientation, race. creed, colour or ability. The charity aims to keep its costs of coachmg as low as possible. so that it is then
accessible to as many childrenlfamilies as possible.

Statement of directors, responsibilities
The directors ar¢ reswnsible for preparing the fmancial statements in accordance with applicabl¢ law5 and regulations.
Cotnpany law requires the directors to prepare fmancial statetnents for each financial year. Under the law the directors have elected
to prepare the financial statements in accordance with United Kingdotn Generally Ac¢epted Accounting Practice (Unitrd Kingdom
Accounting Standard5 and applicable law). The financial statements are required by law to give a true and fair view of the slate of
affairs of the company and of the profit or loss of the company for that period. In preparing those finan¢ial statements the directors
are required to-.

make judgements and estimates that are reasonable and prudent.
prepare the financial statements on the going concem basis unless it 15 snappropriate to presume that the entity will continue in
business.
The directors are responsible for keeping proper accounting records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the
financial position of the entity and to ¢nable them to ensure that the flnancial Statements comply with the Companie5 Act 1985.
They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the entity and hence for taking reasonable Steps for the prevention and
detection of fraud and other irregularÈti¢s.
Thi5 report has been prepared in accordance with the special provisions of Part Vll of the Companies Act 2006 relatitig to small

ACCOUL¥4TING POLICIES
Ac¢ounting convention
The financial statements have been Prepared under the historical c05t convention and in accordyn¢e with the Financial
Reporting Standard for Smaller Entities (effective January 2005). They comply with the charity's constimtion, Current
statutory requirements and the Statement of Rwommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charitie5" (revised
2005}. The financial statements adopt the following principal a￿Ounting policies.
Incoming resources
All incoming resources are included in the statement of financi21 actiYÈties when the charity is legally eniitled to the
income and the atnount can be quantified with reasonable accuracy. Incorne of a revenue nathre 15 defeTTed where it is
received in advance to be expended in the following period or it relates to a ￿ndraISing event held in the following perio(L
Capital grants are included in the statement of f￿ancial activities at the point of receipt or when the charity is legally
entitled to the grdnL As required by the Statement of Recommended Practice"Accounting and Reporting by Charities"
(revised 2005), capital grants are not deferred over the lives of the asset they fund.
Resourees expended
All expenditure is accounted for on an a¢cruals basis. Expenditure included under charitable activitie5 comprises those
costs incurred by the charity in the delivery of it5 activities and services for i15 beneficiaries. It includes both cost that can
be allocated directly to such activities and those costs of an indirect nature necessary to SUPPOrt them. Governance costs
include those costs associated with ￿eeting the constitutional and statutory requirement of the charity.
Donated services
Donated s¢rvi¢¢s have not been quantified or included in the fu]ancial statements. These relate to free work done on a
volunteer basis. Statement of Re¢ommended Practice "Accounting and Reporting by Charities" only requires donated
services to be included in the statement gf fjnancial activities wher¢ the benefjt to the charity 15 rea59nably quantifiab5e and
measurable.
FUND ACCOUNTING
Unrestricted income fimds are ayailable for use at the discretion of the tNstees in ￿rther8￿ce of the general objectives of
the charity. Restricted income funds are funds to be used in accordance with specific restrictions imposed by donors or
funds which have been rdis¢d for a particular pU￿Ose. The r¢5tri¢ted fund shown in th¢5¢ fll)ancial statements must be
used to pay exp¢ns¢5 in¢urr¢d in the schools ¢ri¢k¢t incom¢ and related work from this work.
RELATED PARTY TRANSACTIONS
An opening donation was given to the charity from the Scarborough and Distrid Cricket Development Group amounting to
£30,902.

ended 30 Septeinber 2023.
Responsibilities and Basis of Report
As the Charity's trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the
Requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ("The Act").
I report in resp¢¢t of my examination of the Trust's accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act
and in carrying out my examination, I haver followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity
Commission under section 145 (5)(b) of the Act.
