## **Introduction** 

The trustees present their report together with the financial statements of Seven Seeds CIO for the year ended 31 December 2024. The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011 and the Charities SORP (FRS 102). 

## **Structure, Governance and Management** 

Seven Seeds CIO is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) governed by its constitution as registered with the Charity Commission. The charity is managed by a board of trustees who are responsible for governance, financial oversight, and strategic direction. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The charity’s objects are the relief of poverty and the advancement of education and well-being for vulnerable individuals and communities. Activities include: 

- Delivering aid and educational support programmes 

- Providing emergency food assistance to those in need 

The trustees confirm that they have considered the Charity Commission’s guidance on public benefit in planning activities. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

During 2024 the charity undertook the following: 

- Education Programme – delivering educational resources and support, funded from unrestricted donations. 

## **Financial Review** 

Total income for the year was £7,741 (2023: £1,431), all of them are unrestricted donations. 

Expenditure amounted to £8,174, including £7,674 on charitable activities and £500 accrued accountancy fees. 

This resulted in a net deficit of £433. At year end, unrestricted funds were £(172) and restricted funds were £nil. The negative unrestricted balance is due solely to the accrual of 2024 accountancy fees (£500), payable in 2025, which have already been covered by 2025 income. 

## **Reserves Policy** 

The trustees aim to build reserves equivalent to at least 3 months’ core costs. At present, reserves are limited due to the early stage of operations. Trustees are actively fundraising to improve the reserves position in 2025. 

## **Public Benefit Statement** 

The trustees confirm that they have complied with their duty under the Charities Act 2011 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charity Commission. 

## **Going Concern** 

The trustees have assessed the charity’s financial position and confirm that there are no material uncertainties. The charity has continued to receive donations in 2025 and is able to meet its commitments. 

## **Plans for the Future** 

- Expand aid and education programmes 

- Strengthen fundraising capacity 

- Improve governance and reporting structures

## **Notes to the Accounts for the year ended 31 December 2024** 

## **1. Accounting Policies** 

Basis of preparation: The financial statements have been prepared in accordance with the Charities Act 2011, the Charities SORP (FRS 102) and applicable accounting standards. The accounts are prepared on an accruals basis. 

Fund accounting: Unrestricted funds are available for general use in furtherance of the charity’s objects. Restricted funds are funds subject to specific conditions imposed by donors. 

Income recognition: Income is recognised when receivable, provided that conditions for entitlement are met, receipt is probable and the amount can be reliably measured. 

Expenditure recognition: Expenditure is accounted for on an accruals basis and allocated to the relevant
