## Our Vision

CHCL works in close partnership with the Diocese of Worcester and supports the diocesan vision to grow as Kingdom People, sharing the good news of Jesus’ love in Worcestershire & Dudley through worshipping God, making disciples, sharing hope and transforming communities.

Our starting point is God’s love for each one of us, expressed most powerfully in the life of Jesus: his care, compassion and self-giving. We look to walk alongside centre users to restore hope and confidence, to equip them to live well in the community, to discover what they need and where appropriate to support them moving into employment. We give opportunity to discover more about the Christian faith whilst endeavouring to treat all with the appropriate respect of an “inclusive” organisation.

## Chair’s Report

2024 was a good year for the Community Link.

At the end of 2023, the Link took possession of its new rented property. A larger shop on the other side of the road. Thanks are due to the various organisations, along with assistant manager, Tim Ryall, who worked throughout the year to improve the facilities.

The most important of these has been the installation of the kitchen to inspection standard. This has enabled volunteers to receive training in kitchen hygiene etc and for both hot and cold meals, along with hot drinks to be served on a regular basis.

Some of these meals are provided for free, especially to those who come to use the Foodbank, others are priced at a very moderate price which helps to finance the kitchen.

As 2024 drew to a close, there was still work on th e building waiting to be done: especially to make the upper level of the shop usable, though office space has already been provided.

“Wednesday Worship” continued to attract an interesting group of people. Some Christians for many years, some newer to faith. Others worshipping in local churches too, some who had become disaffected with their local church or denomination finding a new home. Trustees hope that future work with the “Forge Group” of local Anglican churches can further strengthen the missional outreach of the project, alongside the practical “good works” that are creating such a wonderful community environment.

Feedback from those who support the project both financially and in partnership work, such as Sandwell Cranstoun and Sandwell Family Spokes, is that the Link has created a community that people feel comfortable in and want to be part of. That couldn’t have been achieved without the commitment of the Link’s many volunteers. Thank you.
