Concussion Prevention ``` ``` InApril2024,LOTGheldandfundedoursecondannualUKConcussionPreventionNetworkconference, in London, in partnership with the University of Bath and Calgary University. ``` ``` ThismarkedthecreationofanewUKConcussionPreventionNetwork.ASteeringGroupandan Advisory Grouphavebeensetuptodelivertheaimsofthenetworkandprovidegovernanceand communication with key stakeholder organisations. ``` ``` Creating a national network of dedicated sports concussion care ``` ``` In2022LOTGbegantodrawtogetheranetworkofleadingneurosurgeons, neurologists, neuro-psychologistsandradiographersfromaround20leadinghospitalsandcentres.Itwas originally calledtheRegionalSportsConcussionCentresNetworkbutwasrenamedtheUKConcussion Network (UKCN).Itisco-chairedbyProfessorPeterHutchinsonfromCambridgeandProfessorMichael Parker fromLOTG.LOTGisfinanciallysupportingtheadministrationofthenetwork.Thenetworkhas been invaluablein,interalia,providingadvicetoLOTG'sthen-ChairmanLaurenceGellerandto government whichhelpedthemtocraftthenationalguidelinesforconcussionmanagementacrossall grassroot sports.
