To advance the education of the pupils at rural schools in Zambia by freely providing advanced facilities, including classrooms and teacher’s houses, educational material, and an orphan support programme.
To relieve poverty and to improve the conditions of life in socially and economically disadvantaged communities in Zambia by freely providing access to safe water and sanitation, community housing, sustainable income-generating enterprises, and food security.
To preserve and protect the health of patients in rural areas of Zambia by freely providing and assisting in the provision of facilities, including the construction of health posts and staff houses, support services for malaria and HIV prevention, and equipment not normally provided by the statutory authorities.
OUR TEAMS
The Butterfly Tree is an all-volunteer organization both in the UK and Zambia. Amongst our team of trustees and volunteers are a retired Company Director, Financial Advisor, a former head of house at a London university. In Zambia a former Head Teacher, former Chairman of the Livingstone Malaria Board, a former local Counsellor, and former sponsored orphans who have completed school and college. The charity operates in Surrey, UK and close to the Victoria Falls in Zambia. The charity provides funds to construct boreholes, health and education facilities, food security, malaria and HIV prevention, community housing, sustainable income generating enterprises for women, sports projects, and an orphan support programme.

Chairman's Report The Butterfly Tree Charitable Incorporated Organisation, number 1202390 was registered in March 2023. However. The Butterfly Tree Charitable Trust registration number 1118084, which was registered in February2006 is still in operation. ConsequentLy, we have filed and Annual Report and Accounts for 2023- 24 with the Charity Commission for The ButterfLy Tree Trust for this financial year. Duringthis period, we provided the following support: Construction of schools and a clinic. installation of boreholes and solar-powered water reticulation systems. In addition, we initiated food security projects forwomen and youths with disabilities and distributed thousands of bags of ground maize to communities that were impacted bythe severe drought in Zambia. We built houses for orphans and widows and sponsored orphans in education at Mukuni, Kamwi, Ngandu, Ndele, Riverview, Lumbo. Senkobo, KazunguLa and Mosokotwane schools.
