The trustees who are also directors of the charity for the purposes of the Companies Act 2006, present their
report wth the flnancSal statements of the charity for the year ended 31 March 2025. The trustees have
adopted the provi51ons of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice
applicable to charities preparing their accounts in accordance with the Financial Reportlng Standard
applicable in the UK and Republic of Irelané IFRS 1021 (effective 1 January 2019)
The Trustees confirm that they have complied ￿th the duty In Section 4 of the Charllles Act 2006 to have due
regard lo the Charity Commission's general guidance on public benefit. The Trustees have referred to the
12tter guldance when reviewing the cttarills aims and objectives. In particular, the Trustees consider that the
planned a¢llvilies of the charity have, and will continue. lo further the ends of the relief of sickness and the
protecllon of health to travellers abroad.

ACHIEVEMENTS AND PERFORMANCE

l am pleased lo report that our membershlp numbers have Increase in the last year, which I Ihlnk Is
atlr5butable to our use of various Social media platfomis. We have more followers on our social media than
ever before and we are highlighllng the conference, weblnars and journa18, In order to attract new memb8rs.
We want lo further expand our membershlp, and 88 8uch, we have. Ilke last year, provided a year'8
membership as part of the Conference admlssion fee lo non-member5. We have successfully 50ughl
sponsorship from phamiaceutlcal ￿MpanIeS, which enable5 us lo provide the conference free of charge to
our mgmber5.
I continue lo be hugely thankful to Harnek Chera our Honorary Treasurer., Harnek utlllses all hls buslness
k￿￿edge and h88 made savlngs and gathored financlal inslghts lo benefit BGTHA.
After last year's conference Ivan Aloysuis jolned the Executive Commilte8. Jan8 Wilson-Howdrth has taken
on the role of A¢ling Editor of the journal, for whlch l am eternally grateful. Jane brings a wealth of writing
experience lo the role.
Presently our committee comprises Ihw doctors, two nurses and four pharmacists. There are thre8
vacancies in th8 Executive Committee so there are opportunities to bring in fresh Kjeas and passion to the
Execullve Committee. Please contact me, or any of the Commlllee should you wi¥h to nominate yourself.
As always, my heartfelt thanks to all on the BGTHA Executive Committee for their hard work throughout this
year. I musl also thank our outstanding President George Kassianos, CBE, for hSs long-standing and
conllnued contributions to BGTHA. It truly has been a pleasure lo work with you all toward our common goal
of providing educallon lo travel and global health practilioners.
FUTURE PLANS
We ¢ontlnue lo present the electronic version of the Travelwise Joumal, as an educational publication with
relevant material to praclilioners who provide, or have an Interest in. any type of Travel or Global Health
servlce. Online publication has resulted in huge cost savings but also enables us to present articles in a
timdier fashion.
As alway5, w8 are seeking new authors so please let us know rf you would like to write for us and we can
forward you a copy of the author guidelines.
Dr Graham Fry wrlle monthly newsletters of interesting snippets Ihal are uploaded lo the members area on
the website. These are just enough lo stimulate some thought and allow member5 the opportunity lo explo
in more depth items that interest them.

Governing documont
The charity is controlled by its govèrning document, a deed of trust, and constitutes a limited company, limited
by guarantee. as defined by the Companies Act 2006.
The organisation Is an incorporated chaTIty, incorporated on 30th March 2023 and reg￿$te￿d as a charlty on
30th March 2023.
Recruitment and appointmént of nèw trustèes
New Iruslees are voted onlo the board of ITuslees by membership vote.
Organlsatlonal structure
The Executive board is headed by the Chalrman 8nd1g SUPPOrted by the remainiTrg other executive members.
The board is able lo Co-opt other members wth specialist skills as needed.The secretarlal function is

The financial statements of the charitable company, which is a public benefit entity under FRS 102,
have been p￿pared in accordance wth the Charities SORP IFRS 1021 'Accounling and Reporting by
Charities.. Statement of Recommended Praelice applicable lo charilieg preparing their accounts in
accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFRS
102} leffective 1 January 2019),. Financlal Reportlng Standard 102 The Financial Reporting Slanéar
applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland, and the Companies Act 2006. The financial statements
have been prepared under the historical cost convention.
Income
All income 1$ recogni5ed in the Statement of Financial Activities once the charity has enlitlemenl lo the
funds, 11 is probable that the income will be receNed and the amount can be measured reliably.
Expendituro
Liabilities are recogniged as expenditure ag soon as there is a legal or conslruclive obligation
commrtling the charity lo that expenditure. 11 is probable that a transfer of economic benefits will be
required in settlement and the amount of the obligation can be measured reliably. Expenditure Is
accounted for on an accruals basis and has been classified under headlngs that aggregate all Gosl
related lo the category. Where ¢o$ls cannot be dIr￿llY allributed to particular headings they have been
allocated lo aclivlties on 8 basls conslstenl wllh the use of resour￿8.
Taxatlon
The charity is exempt from corporation 18x on Its charitable activities.
Fund accountlng

Restricted funds can only be used for particular restflctod purposes withln the objects of the charity.
Restrictions arise when speclfied by the donor or whan funds are raised for partlcular restricted
purposes.
