This feedback**<br>**helped us to put together activities that**<br>**cater to children and young people with**<br>**a wide range of needs and ages.**<br>**During 2024–2025, Southwark**<br>**Independent Voice delivered two key**<br>**community events: a family day trip and**<br>**a New Year celebration, supporting 123**<br>**families of children and young people**<br>**with SEND.**<br>**These events created accessible,**<br>**inclusive spaces where families could**<br>**meet others with shared experiences in**<br>**a relaxed and supportive environment.**<br>**For many families, this was their first**|





**opportunity to take part in a SENDfriendly social activity, reducing barriers to participation and increasing confidence to engage in community life.** 

**The events strengthened peer connections, enabling parents and carers to exchange practical advice, share experiences, and build informal support networks that continued beyond the events themselves. Families reported feeling more connected, understood, and supported.**
