Open to<br>museums and members of the Hellenic and Roman Societies.<br>Provided an opportunity for museums working with classical<br>collections to promote their work and share their experiences.<br>Evaluation responses were highly positive, with on overall<br>rating of 4.8 out of 5. A write-up of the event is available here:<br>https://classicalcollectionsnetwork.co.uk/2024/02/23/classical-<br>collections-in-scotland/.<br>October 2023: tour of the ‘Return of the Gods’ exhibition at<br>World Museum Liverpool and workshop on small scale<br>exhibitions and gallery interventions. Opportunity for<br>museums with classical collections to learn from the curator of<br>a major collection and exhibition, and to generate ideas to<br>share their own collections for public benefit. More<br>information about the event is available here:<br>https://classicalcollectionsnetwork.co.uk/2024/02/21/return-<br>of-the-gods-and-creative-approaches/,<br>Ongoing: the CCN is developing a map of public museums with<br>classical collections around the UK, which is shared freely on its<br>website for public benefit. In this period, trustee Ollie Croker<br>drew together his own research on collections of Greek vases<br>in UK museums with the CCN’s existing listing of relevant<br>museums, adding to the number of known collections. We<br>began testing Peripleo, a free map visualisation software, as a<br>possible new platform to improve on the Google map currently<br>used on the CCN website.|

The event in September 2023<br>was organised in collaboration with the<br>Hellenic and Roman Societies, which funded<br>travel for some speakers, and National<br>Museums Scotland, which offered space free of<br>charge and provided refreshments.|





In February 2024 the Classics Section at Newcastle University paid [redacted] £268.80 from funding for outreach in order to carry out work to develop the CCN’s website. This work was separate from their usual role as Membership Secretary for the CCN. The other trustees (without [redacted]) agreed that this action was in the best interests of the CCN, and confirmed that the work was completed to the agreed standard.
