Thls y88r has been a mom8ntous achievement for all involved In E8sI Preston
Men In Sheds. We are proud lo rert that since thè Implementalion of our new
shed build In August 2024. we have steadily bul posillvely intriyJuce¢J ourselves
lo Ihe residents ol our local communlty.
This was iniallY made posslble by receiving two generous grants from our Ial
Parish Council and The Emest Kleinwori Foundation, as well as a number of
smalb8r but equally valuablo financial donatsons from various sponsors.
Having fitted out the shed wllh machinery, lools and materials whilst undertaking
8 6eries ol induction cour59$ for our members. we sel aboul raislng ovr own
operallng funds by participallng In local fe811val events and pmviding 'handyman'
servlces to t4nd8rtake modest community projects. We were delighled lo b8
awarded 'best dressed f108t' in our villagg Summer festival procession which
further enhanced our profil8 to allr8cI potential new members to join. which11 dld.
including onè femal& memb8rl W8 Stari6d our year wilh 12 and our membership
numbers had Increased to 22 at end ol Mard).
Other ventures throughout thè y88r included A gar390 sBI8, OP8n g8rdenlplanl
sale and Chrislmas fayre 8clivilies which also helped lo maintain our posillve
exposu. We now also have an online website where local residents can read
about our endeavours.
To celebrate a very successful year of achievement for EPMIS. our members
enjoyed a Christsnas meal al a local hoslelry.
There have been mlnor changes lo our Trustees during this perk)d. Kevin Hlll la
melor player In the shed bulld) has been nominated and Pat Gander h8s reslgned
due lo personal reasons. The qUOTum three Trustees al Ihi6 tim8 are.. Neil Ellis
Ichairmanl, Adrian Miller Isecrelaryl and Kevin Hlll. 11 should be noled that with
Pat Gander slandlng down, the Treasurer's role Is now the responslb1151y of our
member of over two ye8rs. Jeffrey McGee.
Our Charity has glv9n substantial consideration to major risks to which It might be
exposed and our Trustees are satisfied that both our operating systems and
procedures have been adequately established and monllored In order to manage
those risks.
To condude, we have made conslderable Prog$$ over the year and wlll
endeavour lo Continue to promote the upbeal atmosphéré of camaraderie and
wellbeing within our memb8rship group, 8B woll as maintaining our (xedibllity
wlthln the k)cal community.
