COMBINED ANNUAL REPORT AND ACCOUNTS FOR 2024/25

There are 5 trustees on the above CommiKee namely: Brian Hill, [Chairman] Susan Tyldsley -Hill, Keith Hopkins, Charles Hardy and Margaret Hallewell.

The above CIO has been created to take over and absorb the duZes and funcZons of the management commiKee created by a DeclaraZon of Trust dated 29 October 1965 charity registraZon number 305296. The laKer commiKee has conZnued to operate , managing the village hall and submi^ng annual reports and accounts on its behalf. The 1965 commiKee will cease to funcZon on 31 January 2026 when the CIO will take over its duZes and funcZons as from 1 February 2026 and the 2 charitable bodies will in effect be merged. 3. The property which is the object of both management commiKees is the Ripe with Chalvington Village Hall situate in Church Lane , Ripe, East Sussex. Currently the 1965 trustees are the management trustees and the freehold is vested in the Chalvington with Ripe Parish Council.

On 22 December 2025 the Charity Commission approved [a] the transfer of the duZes and funcZons of the 1965 commiKee to the CIO, [b] the transfer of the freehold of the village hall into the possession of the CIO and [3] the indemnificaZon of the 1965 trustees by the CIO.

On 21 January 2026 at a joint session of both management trusts the 1965 trustees approved the terms sancZoned by the Charity Commission as related by paragraph 4 above and the trustees of the CIO did likewise.

UnZl the 1 February the 1965 trust has been operaZng and managing the hall and collecZng the income and managing the disbursements and taxes etc. Accordingly the CIO has not had the benefit of any income or responsibility for any outgoings . The CIO has in effect been in limbo unZl the Charity Commission gave permission for it to replace the 1965 trust which occurred on 22 December 2025 by an Order of that date. The 1965 trust has submiKed the reports and accounts under its own heading and these may therefore be sought there. However from 1 February 2026 the situaZon will change and the CIO will assume the management and reporZng funcZons.
