COMBINED ANNUAL REPORT AND STATEMENT OF ACCOUNTS FOR THE PERIOD 1 APRIL 2023 TO 31 MARCH 2024

  1. ANNUAL REPORT: The Ripe and Chalvington Village Hall Management Committee still functions and operates under the provision of the Declaration of Trust dated 29 October 1965 [305296] . The freehold ownership of the Village Hall remains vested in the Ripe with Chalvington Parish Council as custodian trustee and the 1965 Management Committee remains as the beneficial owner. Accordingly the 1965 Management Committee remains in being and manages and operates the village hall, receives income, pays all and any expenses incurred , holds regular meetings and submits regular accounts on its activities to the Charity Commission.These may be inspected.

  2. THE CIO [1202273]: Until the Freehold and Beneficial ownership of the Village Hall is vested in the CIO then the CIO undertakes no formal or informal functions. It owns no property , receives no income and incurs no expenses or liabilities. The CIO together with the 1965 Trust and the Parish Council are applying to the Charity Commission for approval to transfer the ownership of the Village Hall and once that is achieved for the CIO to take over the ful functions of the 1965 Committee. The 1965 Trust will then seek to liquidate itself with the approval of the Charity Commission.

  3. ACCOUNTS AND STATEMENT OF AFFAIRS:

As stated above the CIO owns no assets, has no income, no expenses nor any liabilities.All the functions of the CIO are currently being conducted by the 1965 Trust.
