Objectives and Activities
Jades’ bags charity is a nonprofit organisation providing support, food and essential provisions to those in need in the local communities in Preston and surrounding areas.
Ultimately, our aim is to provide further social needs from a local hub and extend our charity throughout the northwest.
Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts.
During the financial year September 2023 to 9[th] September 2024 we have given out food parcels, Christmas day dinner parcels, furniture, school uniforms, bedding, kitchen ware, clothing, essentials for children and babies, toys and toiletries after receiving referrals from various organisations, such as Social Services, Domestic violence units, Mental health services, GP Surgeries, housing associations, homeless services, Lancashire County Council, and via self-referral.
Achievements and Performance
Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries, and any wider benefits to society.
Our work has given beneficiaries peace of mind when sometimes they were at their lowest point, some of our recipients had used other food banks and were unable to use again or as some food banks have a small charge some could simply not afford to use therefore, were relieved to know our charity has no fee and free delivery of goods. One of our other achievements is providing most of the wards at our local hospital with toiletries for in patients, some patients are admitted without essential items and no friends/family to provide, therefore in these situations we found out that staff on the wards was paying for these items out of their own pocket. Jades’ bags charity provided boxes filled with toiletries and our contact details to let us know when boxes required replenishing.
