Trustees Report

Financial Year ended 30[th] September 2023

The trustees, who are also directors for the purposes of company law, have pleasure in presenting their annual directors’ report and the financial statements of the charity for the financial year ended 31 August 2023. These reports and statements are also prepared to meet the requirements for a directors’ report and accounts for the Companies Act purposes.

As the charity's gross income does not exceed £250,000, the Trustees have elected to prepare a Receipts and Payments Account and Statement of Assets and Liabilities, rather than full accounts.

The Trustees are thankful to God for the start of 10Giving, which they hope will have a significant impact in the years to come as ‘resource others as they point people to Jesus’.

Structure, Governance and Management

Governing Document

The organisation is a CIO registered on 6[th] March 2023.

Trustees

New Trustees are short listed and discussed by the existing board of trustees. Those considered suitable are invited to join the board of trustees. The new trustees are fully inducted into the management structure of the Charity and all the requirements on them as trustees.

Risk Management

The Trustees have assessed the major risks that the charity is exposed to and are satisfied that there are systems and procedures in place to minimise exposure to the major risks. Those major risks are reviewed regularly, along with the management procedures for dealing with them.

Organisational Management and Staffing

The Trustees are responsible for the overall management of 10Giving. They meet quarterly online. Hannah Peace is the Charity Administrator who oversees the day to day running of the Charity. All grant decisions are seen and approved by Trustees. The Trustees review and approve policies to not only ensure compliance but best practice. Roy Collie, Group Finance Director for 10ofthose, assists the financial responsibilities and provides quarterly reports for the Trustees.

Activities and objectives

10Giving aim is to ‘resource others as they point people to Jesus’. This is done through grant applications and the provision of physical resources (usually books, Bibles and booklets) which are distributed across the UK and beyond.

The charity was registered in March, but due to the administrative practicalities had a soft launch in September, with a major launch on 1[st] October.

As such we were able to make three grants of literature in the financial year, to one organisation and three individuals. One person is working in prison and was able to give books to the prisoners, two others were working on the streets giving out Christian literature and the organisation has a charity shop in Leeds and created a new section within the shop of books to be given away. All the resources help people to understand the Christian faith as told to us in the Bible.

Our aim for the coming year is to increase the awareness of 10Giving both to received funding but also to be able to give more grants both in the UK and overseas.

Financial Review

During the year, the charity received income of £20,000. This gift was received from the profits of 10ofthose. We allocated grants of £1,559.80

Our hope and prayer is that both the income and expenditure through grants will increase in the years ahead.

Reserves Policy

The trustees reviewed the level of unrestricted funds at the end of the financial year and decided to continue a risk-based approach to the level of reserves held. They consider £2,000 an appropriate level for free reserves, enabling them to address any issues arising from unforeseen costs, and free reserves at 30[th] September 2023 were £2,000.

Signed on behalf of the Trustees

Jonathan Carswell
