Welcome to Dee Valley Childcare, where
we are dedicated to providing exceptional
care and early education for up to 16
Ghildren bebNeen the ages of and including
3 years and 5 years. WÈ are a registered
charity with Care Inspectorate Wales {ClW)
to provide day care. We are based in the
grounds of Ysgol Y Garth CP. Our aim is to
creale a nurturing, safe, and stimulating
environment that allows children lo flourish,
learn and grow by supporting the holistic
development of every child in our care.
Working together lo provide accessible and
affordable childcare for fam￿lIeS in our
comrnunity. We arè an English-speaking
setting Ihat encourages the children in our
care learn basic Welsh along with Makaton.

through play, exploration, and active
involvement.

2.1 In light of the scope and purpose, Dee
Valley Childcare aims to maintain reserves
consisting of.. i. reserves to meet
redundancy liabilities-, ii. general
contingency reseNes equal to one term's
{i.e. one-third of annual) tolal expenditure.

2.2 The Trustees believe that this level of
reserves is prudent and necessary to
ensure that Dee Valley ChildGaré can run
efficiently and meet future needs.
2.3 The Treasurer will monitor the aclual
level of reserves and compare with the
target level no less than once a year (at the
f inancial year-endl and report lo the
committee if the reseNes deviate from the
target level by +1.15C/¢..
2.4 In the event of reserves falling
signific8ntly below Ihe tsrget level, Dee
Valley Childcare will aim to restore the
reserves as soon as possible by increasing
fundraising, increasing earned income, or
reducing expenditure. Similarly, if reserves
are significanlly above the target level, the
trustees will pul in place a plan as soon as
possible, aiming to eliminate the excess
within four years by spending money to
enhance the quality of Ghildcare, or
othetwise further the aims of Dee Valley
Childcare, or by reduoing fundraising.
2.5 The Trustees will nol, however, take
any stèps that might call into question the
abilily of Dee Valley Childcare to continue
as a financially viable operation in the long
term. In particular, it will not plan to use
èxcess reseNes to cover essonlial running
costs.

13.Appoinlment of charity trusteès
(1) The charity truslees are appointed at
the AGM of the charity to seNe for two
successive yearsand shall retire from off ice
with effect from Ihe conclusion of th8
second AGM following their
appointment.
12) At every AGM of the mernbérs of the
CIO. one third (or the number nearest to
one thirdl of the
elected charily trustees shall retire from
office.
{31 The charity trustees to retire by rotation
shall be those who have been longest in
office since
their last appointment or reappointment. If
any charity trustees were last appointed or
reappointed on the same day, those to
retire shall (unless otherwise agreed
amongst

(41 The vacancies so arising may be filled
by the decision of the members at the
AGM,. anyvacanGies not filled at the AGM
may be filled as provided in sub-clause {5)
of this clause.
(5) The members or the charity trustees
may at any lime decide to appoint a new
charity trustee,whether in place of 8 charity
trust88 who has retired or been removed in
accordance with Clause 15 (Retirement and
removal of ch8rity trustees), or as an
additional charity trustee. provided thatlhe
limit specif led in sub-clause 12(31 (Number
of charity trustees) would not as a result be
exceeded. A person so appointed, shall
serve for two successive years and shall
retire inaccordance with sub-clauses {2)
and (3) of this clause.
(6) Where an individual is appointed as a
charity trustee, IL is that individual who is
the charity Iruslee. No other individual with
whom they share membership shall be
entitled to stand in Iheir place at meetings
of (he charity trustees or have any other
rights as a charity trustee.
{7) To encourage parental involvement, at
leasl two thirds of the charity trustees shall
normally at the time of election be family
members. In ihe event that this f igure
cannot be achieved however,
