Report of the Trustees for year ended 30[th] June 2024.

With effect from 1[st] July 2023 the Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club (CIO), Registered Charity No. 1202116, assumed responsibility for the assets and liabilities of the previously unincorporated Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club and its associated Charitable Trust Fund, Registered Charity No. 1110931. This is therefore the first report of the Trustees relative to the newly formed Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).

The Trustees present their Report together with the Financial Statements for the year ended 30[th] June 2023.

The President is also the Chairman of the Trustees and a quorum is a majority of the total number of charity trustees for the time being, or such larger number as the charity trustees may decide from time to time.

No Trustee received any remuneration or benefit from the CIO.

The Trustees are responsible for keeping proper financial records which disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial position of the CIO and to enable them to ensure that the Financial Statements comply with the Charities Act 1992. They are also responsible for safeguarding the assets of the CIO.

Objectives

These are defined in the Constitution.

The Objects of the Club are such purposes as are exclusively charitable in England & Wales, including in particular:

  1. The advancement of citizenship

  2. Promoting the Voluntary Sector for the public benefit by associating with local authorities in a common effort to advance education and provide facilities in the interests of social welfare for recreation or other leisure time occupation to improve the conditions of life of people in local, national and international communities.

  3. Promoting volunteering.

  4. The relief of poverty and the relief of those in need in particular by providing humanitarian aid and disaster relief.

  5. The advancement of health or the saving of lives by preventing avoidable blindness,

assisting disabled people to lead independent lives or helping to prevent or manage health issues.

  1. Promoting for the benefit of the public the conservation protection and improvement of the physical and natural environment.

  2. Promoting community participation in healthy recreation.

Statement of Public Benefit

The Trustees have complied with the duty in section 4 of The Charities Act 2006 to have due regard to public benefit guidance published by the Charities Commission.

Organisation

A Constitution for a Charitable Incorporated Organisation registered with the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales on 28[th] February 2023 and adopted on 1[st] July 2023, governs the rules of the charity.

The Constitution

A copy of the Constitution is held by the Club Treasurer and is available for inspection at any reasonable time.

Review of Activities

The activities of the Charity continue to be in pursuance of its objectives. Activities are regularly reported at each Club meeting and also monitored at Board of Trustee meetings.

Flnanclal Revlew The detailed financial position of the Charity is shown in the Financial Statements. The Charity continues to receTve the majority of its income from the various fundraising activities of the Club. Some of the activitie5 are designated for specific purposes. On consolidation, payments are then made on a regular basis to the designated Charity or charTtable cause. The Trustees consider the finances of the Charity to be Satisfactory. Reserves Policy. Sufficient reserves are held in the Activities Account to seed our fundraising act7Vities throughout the year. subject to an annual review by the Trustees. Assets The assets of the Charity consist solely of cash held with Lloyds Bank Plc, Ringwood Branch in Current Accounts and an interest-bearing Instant Access Investment Account. Voluntary Help All administration Of the Charity is provided free of char8e by the Rlngwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club with indirect costs covered by member's subscriptions and revenue from inter- member activities. Opening Project Balances

Transferred from the unincorporated Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club and its associated Charitable Trust Account following their merger into the new CIO.

Taxation

The Club has been granted charitable status and no provision has been made in the accounts.

Legal Status

Ringwood & Fordingbridge Lions Club (CIO) is governed by its Constitution adopted in July 2023 and is registered with the Charity Commissioners for England and Wales, Register Number 1202116, who regulates charity giving.
