Rossett Swimming Club Trustee Report 24/25
Rossett Swimming Club was founded over 40 years ago with the purpose of affordable swimming lessons for all children following the death of two children in the river Alyn who could not swim. The club provides affordable and some non-paying swimming lessons for children in the Wrexham areas. Swimming is a vital skill for all children and unfortunately not a luxury many can afford. The club has taught thousands of children to swim, and especially supports SEN children and we currently have children who are Autistic, ADHD, Non Verbal, Spina Bifida, and Cerebral Palsy these children are the most vulnerable in our society and are at high risk of drowning.
The club is run by trustees and volunteers; the club currently has two trustees after the death of one of the trustees in November 24. The club is actively seeking to recruit another trustee and has plans to hold a AGM in the coming months.
The club supports young adults in the training programme which allows young volunteers to train as swimming teachers and gain a qualification in swim teaching.
The trustees would like to acknowledge the input the volunteers have to the club and all the children they currently support.
