**Objects:** TO PRESERVE FOR THE BENEFIT OF THE PEOPLE OF RHONDDA CYNON TAFF COUNTY BOROUGH AND OF THE NATION AND FOR THE ADVANCEMENT OF THE EDUCATION OF THE PUBLIC, THE HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL AND CONSTRUCTIONAL HERITAGE THAT MAY EXIST IN AND AROUND THE GREAT WESTERN COLLIERY HOPKINSTOWN, IN BUILDINGS (INCLUDING ANY STRUCTURE OR ERECTION, AND ANY PART OF A BUILDING SO DEFINED) OF PARTICULAR HISTORICAL, ARCHITECTURAL OR CONSTRUCTIONAL INTEREST.

**Activities:** The Trust preserves and operates the Hetty Colliery steam  winding engine and associated colliery buildings and structures of the grade 1 listed ancient monument. It is currently undertaking a major visitor enhancement scheme supported by a Heritage Lottery Grant
