2. Structure, governance and management

Wish Foundation is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation governed by its constitution. The trustees are responsible for the charity's strategic direction, governance, financial oversight, safeguarding, risk management and compliance with charity law. The charity is volunteer-led and trustees receive no remuneration for acting as trustees.

3. Charitable objects and public benefit

The charity's principal object is the prevention or relief of poverty in the United Kingdom and Bangladesh by providing grants, items and services to individuals in need and/or charities and other organisations working to prevent or relieve poverty.

During the period, Wish Foundation supported people and families experiencing financial hardship, social isolation and barriers to accessing support. Activities included food support, practical community support, wellbeing and social activities, and community events and trips intended to reduce isolation and improve inclusion. The trustees had regard to the Charity Commission's public benefit principles when planning and reviewing activities.

4. Activities and achievements

The charity maintained community support throughout the period and worked with local partners, funders, volunteers and supporters to deliver activities for residents. Grant and sponsorship funding contributed towards specific charitable activities, including community transport/trips, a freezer, equipment and related project costs. Public donations and community contributions also supported the charity's work.

5. Financial review

The accounts have been prepared on a receipts and payments basis. Total receipts for the period were £5,214.46 and total payments were £4,103.31, resulting in an excess of receipts over payments of £1,111.15. Of the receipts, £3,967.40 were restricted and £1,247.06 were unrestricted. Of the payments, £3,595.00 were restricted project expenditure and £508.31 were unrestricted expenditure. The opening bank balance was £225.18 and the closing bank balance at 6 November 2025 was £1,336.33.

Restricted grant and sponsorship income was tracked against the purposes for which it was provided. The charity retains supporting bank records, receipts, invoices and project records. The trustees seek to manage the charity's resources carefully and use funds only in furtherance of its charitable purposes.

6. Reserves and financial management

At the end of the period the charity held £1,336.33 in bank funds. The trustees aim to retain a modest and reasonable level of unrestricted funds where possible to support continuity of essential activities and meet short-term commitments. The level of reserves and the charity's financial position are kept under review.

8. Future plans

In the next period, the trustees intend to continue developing sustainable community support in line with the charity's objects. Subject to available resources and funding, Wish Foundation plans to strengthen digital inclusion and practical skills support, continue appropriate community and wellbeing activities, maintain targeted support for people experiencing hardship, and develop partnerships that can improve access to services and opportunities. The trustees will prioritise activities that are affordable, manageable, demonstrably beneficial to the community and consistent with the charity's available capacity.
