Additional Governance Issues
Membership of the Preston Afghan Foundation is open to all people of Afghanistan having the age of 18 or more living in the Preston area of Lancashire. The trustees oversee the day to day running of the foundation. The trustees seek the views of members and other volunteers involved with the foundation.
Criminal Records Bureau checks are carried out in the appointment of trustees and volunteers.
All trustees give their time voluntarily and received no remuneration or other benefits.
Objectives and Activities
The objectives include

To promote social inclusion for the public benefit by preventing members of the Afghan community in Preston and the surrounding area from becoming socially excluded, relieving the needs of those people who are socially excluded and assisting them to integrate into society.

to finance and support the members in funeral ceremony of their deceased and other cultural events

To get awareness in the community about Education and organise vocational training to gain employable skills

To raise awareness about human rights issues faced by the Afghan community and advocate for policies that protect their rights

To facilitate events that celebrate Afghan culture, traditions and heritage to strengthen community bonds and promote cultural understanding

To facilitate and encourage Afghani women and Girls to enhance their Education and skills and get awareness of their rights.

Independent Examiner’s report on the Accounts
I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts for the year ended on 31/03/2025.
As the Charity Trustees, you are responsible for the preparation of the Accounts in Accordance with the Charities Act 201.
I report in respect of my examination on the Charity Accounts carried out under s145 of the Act and in carrying out my examination. I have
followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under s145(5)(b) of the Act.
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that in,any material respect:

Accounting Records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act; or

The accounts do not accord with the Accounting records
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in
connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.
