The Blaise Hlgh School Trust Is a Charitable Intorporated Organisatlon, whose
governing constitution was registered by the Charity Commission on
14 February 2023.
New trustees will be retruited. based on the knowledge of the turrent trustees.
from suitable candidates. When selerting persons the trustees will take into
account the benefits of appointing persons who are able to contribute to the
purpose or management of the charity by virtue of professional qualifications
or experience.
New Trustees will be appointed by a Simple majority vote of the trustees and
will receive an induction pack including a copy of the constitution and the latest
annual report and accounts.

The Charity's objectlve is to advance the education of the pupils at Blaise High School.
Henbury, Bristol, or any 5ucce550r school, by such charitable means that the trustees
decide.
In pursuit of this oblettlve the trustees manage an investment portfolio wlth the aim
of making grants to the School towards expenditure which is not normally covered by
day to day fundin8.

The trustees have had regard to the 8uidance issued by the Charity Commlsslon on
public benefit.

Achlevements
After discussions wlth the management of Blaise High School. The trustees made a grant
of £35,0(K) to the school to contribute toward5 the replacement of obsolete technology.
Hnanclal Revlew
The financial statements show a deficit for the year of £14,717.
The trustees consider that a level of rese￿e5 of £220.000 should be maintained to
provide an Income to enable the trust to support the school on a long temi basls.
At 31 August 2025, the total reserves amounted to £262,480 made up of Unrestrirted
General Funds of £41,674 and Expendable Endowment of £215.806.

The trustees are looking to continue to 5UPPOrt Blai5e High School by providing grants
in line with the airns and objectives.
Statement of trustees, responslblllties
The trustees are required by law to prepare financial statements for each financial year
whlch give a true and fair view of the state of affair5 of the charity as at the end of
the financlal year and of the surplus or deficit of the charity. In preparing those
financial statements the trustees are required to :_

The trustees are also responsible for maintaining proper accounting records which
disclose with reasonable accuracy at any time the financial posltion of the charity and
which are sufficient to show and explain the charity's transactions and enable them to
ensure that the financlal statements comply with the Charities Art 2011,
the Charity (Accounts and Reports) Regulations 2008 and the provisions of the
charity's constitution. They are also responsible for safegu3rélng the assets of the
charity and hence for takin8 reasonable steps for the prevention and detertion of fraud
and other irregularities.

a). Bas15 of preparation
The accounts have been prepared under the historical cost convention, modified by the
revaluation of fixed asset investments and in accordance the Statement of Recommended
Practice - Accounting and Reportin8 by Charities preparing their accounts in accordance
with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland
IFRS 1021 issued in October 2019, and wlth the Charities Art 2011.
bl. Flxed asset Investments
Fixed asset investments in quoted shares, traded bonds and slmllar Investments are
valued initially at cost and subsequently at their market valLte at the year end.
cl. Recognition of incoffle
Grants and donations are reco8nised in the statement of activities when the charity
has unconditional entitlement to the Income.
Gifts in kind are recognised in the statement of flnancial activities when received
at a reasonable estimate of their market value.
Investment income is recognised in the statement of financial activltles when it
falls due.
dl. Grants payable
Grant5 payable are accounted for at the time communication of the award is made
to the recipient.
e). Funds
Unrestricted general fund5 are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in
furtherance of the charitable purposes of the charity.
Expendable endowment funds are capital funds held to generate an income for the
charity and can be converted to income at the discretion of the trustees.
