Objectives and Activities
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the purposes of the charity as set out in its governing document |
Para 1.17 | The object is to support exclusively charitable purposes as the trustees in their discretion see fit from time to time. |
| Summary of the main activities in relation to those purposes for the public benefit, in particular, the activities, projects or services identified in the accounts. |
Para 1.17 and 1.19 |
During the past year the foundation has continued to support grassroot level social projects that are generally too small to become charities in their own right. The foundation has set up a new project entitled “eldersgivingback.com “. The aim of the project was to encourage elders who are running or wish to run a socially beneficial project to apply to us for awards to support their work. We received a number of replies requesting awards although many were from existing charities which we generally do not support. However, we have identified three social projects which we have funded. In addition, we are maintaining monthly funding support for the projects that we commenced funding during the previous year. In Each of these cases, we receive regular updates as to their progress and the work that they are doing. |
| Statement confirming whether the trustees have had regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit |
Para 1.18 | The trustees confirm that in overseeing the work of the charity, they had due regard to the guidance issued by the Charity Commission on public benefit. |

Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
| Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole. |
Para 1.20 | During the past year the foundation has continued to provide awards of between £500 and £1500 per month as well as individual one off awards that are between £500 and £1000. The recipients include . An individual providing art facilities and training to homeless people. She is continuing her good work and regularly reports to us with numerous photographs of her workshops with several homeless people producing works of surprising talent. This provides them with activities to do on the weekends when most other facilities are closed to them. She has also taken some of the budding artists to art galleries. We believe this is particularly important as it is a start to give them back their self- respect. . An individual who has set up a mentorship project for refugees from Africa. His work continues and the circle increases as each mentee becomes a mentor in their own right to help additional people. We regularly receive reports from him and his work continues successfully. . We continue to support an outstanding middle-aged African lady who has been running a youth club in North London for some years. We believe we are their sole support and she has received extensive publicity in her local area and recognition for her work which we will continue to |

support. The main thrust of her work is to try and keep the young people off the streets and away from gangs and she is able to report that many of the young people have now grown up to be parents themselves and the next generation are also now going to her young peoples club. . We have commenced supporting an elderly gentleman -a resident of Bermondsey. He has set up a local kitchen where he helps train local, generally disadvantaged, young people who wish to learn to cook. Some of these have gone on to get jobs in catering and we will continue to support this gentleman with his good work. . We support a group of individuals who obtain surplus food from supermarkets and distribute amongst the poor in their community. They have recently increased their activities and regularly hire a van and volunteer staff in order to widen the scope of their work which benefits many local people .
