## **Structure, Government and Management** 

The organisation is governed by a Board of Trustees, repsonsible for legal compliance.  Due to the change in circumstances, with Derby City Council taking back overall control of Spondon Library, the Advisory Committee has been disbanded.  At present Derby Libraries do not employ anyone.  Trustees are recruited from residents and local businesses,  who have an interest in supporting community managed libraries. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

Due to the change in control, with Derby City Council bringing all community managed libraries back under its wings, our roles has changed.  The primary objectives of the organisation are to preserve the existence of a library in Spondon, providing a lending library and other related services to the Spondon community and its surroundings. 

As well as providing library staff, our volunteers organised and took part in events and activities for the public and raised funds for library services and improvements. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

Due to major refurbishment, the Library was closed for a year.  Activities have been limited. Our volunteers continued to raise money, selling used books. The Library eventually re-opened in September, giving us a beautiful, welcoming Library to move forward with.  The majority of the volunteers returned, all existing groups returned and one new group began in November 2025.  We continually look for new ways to serve our local community. 

## **Financial Review** 

We continue to support the library and the. Volunteers with their fund raising. Our turnover is:- 

Income £81.33 Expenditure.  £346.80 

Our activities also provide benefit to Spondon Library in the form of donated fixtures and fittings.

## **Treasurer report.** 

1. Since the last financial year ended on 5[th] April 2024 we have had only three transactions, income of £80 from book sales on 10[th] July 2024, deposit account interest received of £1.23 on 4[th] October 2024 and expenditure of £346.80 for the copier replacement on 31[st] July 2024. 

2. The balances are £102.38 in the current account and £153.04 in the deposit account. 

3. We have no liabilities.
