mechanisms for pursuing and obtaining ju8ilce.

Throughout the duration ofthe Investigative Grant Programme. the TrLsslees were committed lo ensure the criteria
above are applied in relation Its investigabve grant programme to journalists and other media workets as more
particularly described on Ihe charity website and In accordance with the requirements of the Charty Commis$l¢)n
to admlnlsleT the grant programme in a way that identifies and manages risk. to ensure it is administered In
a¢wTdance with the charity's objects and critèria and in compliance with all relevant laws.
The grants were made available lo medla workers and organisations 811 over the wodd who were able to receive
funds from the charity in compliance with all required due diligence procedures, and any legal restrictions. to %thloh
the charity may hove been subjert.
The maximum amount offered for each individual grant was sel 8tthe commencement oflhe grant eligibilty period

3. Three-day psychological retreat In Turkey for a group of independent Kyrgyz media workers. During the

After making appropriate enquiries, the Trustees have a reasonable expectation Ihat the charity has adequate
resources lo continue in operational existsnce for the foreseeable future. For this rea50n. they continue to adopt
the golng concern basi8 in preparing the financial statements. Further details regarding the adoption ol Ihe going
oncern basis can be found in the accounting policies.

The charlly has no oulslandlng c¢)mmilments or cash demands which are not adequatety Covered by existing
resources. The total reserves of the charity at 31 January 2025 are £41,128. of which £26.881 are restricted funds
and £14,247 Is In the fom) of an expendable end¢)wment which is capital fiJnds of the charity, that Can be applled
ag income al the discreltr)n of the Trustees. The Trustses consider that freely expendable fvnds are appropriate
and adequate, taking into account plans for the fuiure and have therefore not yet deslgnated a specific reserve8
policy H¢)wever, the Truslees will keep this under constant review. In future ye8fS a specffic reserves policy may
be adopted.
