The 2024 AGM was held on November 16 2024 at the Custom House, Exeter Quay.
At the AGM, 24 members attended, with 1 member attending on-line; this represents 11.75 %
of members and the meeting was therefore quorate.
Chairfs Report for the Financial Year 2023-2024
The Society is moving towards financial sustainability in the Post COVID environment, while
extending its digital offer to Members, since some remain reticent to travel and attend face to
face meetings. Membership is up 17 vs last year, and the Trustees are encouraged that 42
new members have joined in the last 12 months. The 2023124 financial result is an
improvement on previous years, and the Trustees are working hard to manage costs and
ensure that activities are managed to budget. During the year we have welcomed three new
trustees who bring a wealth of expertise and experien￿ in the world of Maritime History.
During the past year we have established links with Plymouth and Exeter universities and
look forward to working with them to encourage the study of maritime history in the region.
