## **NIGEHBAAN FOUNDATION**

Registered Charity Number: 1201693

## **Annual Report**

For the Year: 2024–25

## **A Word from Our Chairperson**

I'm proud to share our very first annual report. Nigehbaan Foundation is still brand new, and this past year has been all about getting the basics right setting up our systems, meeting legal requirements, and planning for the future. To be completely transparent: during the 2024/25 financial year, we had no income. We haven't started fundraising or running projects yet. But we've still made real progress in building a charity that's solid, honest, and ready to make a difference.

## **Money Matters – A Simple Summary**

We opened our charity bank account with an initial deposit of £50 that was all that was needed to get things up and running. For the whole of the 2024/25 financial year, **the charity had no income** . We didn't receive any donations, grants, or other money. We also had no expenses, because our focus was purely on setting up the charity properly before asking for anyone's support.

## **What We've Actually Done This Year**

Even without any income, we've been busy behind the scenes. Here's what we achieved:

- **Got officially registered:** We completed the Charity Commission registration process and are now a recognised charity.

- **Put the right rules in place:** We wrote down key policies on finances, safeguarding, and how we'll operate so we can be accountable from day one.

- **Planned our future:** We had honest, thoughtful conversations about what we want to stand for and where we want to go.

- **Built a roadmap:** We identified the areas we want to work in (like education, health, and social welfare) and sketched out how we'll eventually deliver services, raise funds, and work with others.

## **The Real Challenges We Faced**

Being a new charity isn't easy. Here's what held us back this year:

1. **No income yet:** With just £50 in the bank, we simply couldn't afford to launch any fundraising or run any activities.

2. **Getting the groundwork right took time:** We chose to focus on building a strong foundation first good governance, clear policies, proper registration. That meant fundraising and projects had to wait.

3. **Nobody knows who we are yet:** We're a new name, and we haven't had the chance to build trust or recognition in the community. That's something we'll need to work on.

## **What We Plan to Do Next Year**

We're still full of hope and energy. Here's what we want to achieve in the coming year:

1. **Start raising money:** We'll reach out for grants, donations, and sponsorships so we finally have some income to work with.

2. **Launch small pilot projects:** We want to start small but meaningful programmes in education, health, or social welfare to show what we can do.

3. **Build partnerships:** We'll connect with other charities, local businesses, and community groups to learn from them and work together.

4. **Get our name out there:** We'll use social media, community events, and outreach to introduce Nigehbaan Foundation to the people we want to serve and support.

5. **Train ourselves up:** We'll make sure our trustees and volunteers get the training they need to run things properly and stay within the rules.

## **A Final Reflection**

This first year wasn't flashy. We didn't raise thousands of pounds or run big projects. But we did something just as important: we built a proper, lawful, and thoughtful foundation for everything that comes next. We had no income this year, but we have a clear plan, a committed team, and a genuine desire to help.

Thank you to everyone who has believed in us during these quiet, behind-the-scenes months. We're looking forward to the year ahead with hope, energy, and a real determination to turn our plans into action.

With gratitude,
