Introduction
The Trustees of STAR Housing are pleased to present the Annual Report for the year
ending 5April 2024. As a newiyestablished CIO, this yearwas primarily focused on
proparing for our oporE]tional launch in tho upcomingyear. Dospito rbot yot bocomlng
fully operational, we made significant strides in laying the foundation for the work we
aim to do in the future. Our mission to provide relief to those suffering from addiction to
mind-altering substances and to promote the preservation and protectlDn of good
health is the cornerstone of our efforts, and we are exciied to move ctoserto fulfilling
that misslon.

The charity's objectives. as outllned in our foundi ng documents. are the rellef of
slckne8s and the preservatlon and protectlon ofgood health among indlviduBls who are
addicted to mind-altering substance5. We aim to provide vital support, treatment, and
recovery servicesto those affected by addiction, uLtim8tely improving their well-being
and enabling them to lead fulfilling, healthier lives.
Rovlew of the Y•ar
As STAR Housingwas not yet operation81 duringthis year, much of our aclivitywas
focused on setting up the necessary structures 8nd partnerships to ensure a successful
start to our work in the coming year. The key activities ofthe year include:
Forrnatlon and GovernBnco." This ye8rw3s pivotal in setting up the govern8nce
structure of STAR Housing. We successfully recruited a dedicated Board of
Trustees. who bring a wealth of experience in charity governance, addiction
Ireatment, 8nd public health. The Board has worked diiigentlyto finalise our
charity's mission. values. and strategic goals, ensuringwe are well-positioned to
make a meaningful impact in the future.
Fundralslngand Flnanclal Planning- Although we did not yet begin Operational
activities, we worked on securing the necess8ryfundlngtO 5UPPOrt our programs

once we become operatlonal. Through gr8nt applications and plans for
fundraising. we aimed to build the financiaL resources needed to provide ongoing
services to those in need. We developed a detailed financial plan that includes
projected funding requirements and long-term sustainability Str8tegies.
Partnerships and Stakeholder Engagem•nt: Recognising the importance of
collaboration In the our sector. we beg8n forming pannerships wilh other
organls8tlons that share our808ls and values. These partnerships will allow us to
work more effectively in providing support to our service users. We have al80
been in contact with health¢are professionals and addiction specialists to
ensure our services will be evidence-based and in line with best practices.
Communily Ouir•a¢h and Awareno$g: Alihough we were noi yel operatlonal.
we have begun engagingwith the community to r8i8e awareness about the work
we aimed to do.

Looklng Forward
Looking 8head. we are excited aboul the next phase of STAR Housing's development.
Our key priorities for the following financial year include:
1. Opgr8tional Launch: Our primaryfocus in the next year is to18unch our
services, including addiction recovery housing and recovery day program. We
aim to make 8 positive difference in the live5 of individuals struggling with
addiction.
2. Program Developrnent: We will continue to develop our progr8m, focusing on
hollsilc care that Integrates guided group work. house group meeting. peer
support, and one-on-one support. We will also en8ure ihai our services are
accessible and tailored to meetthe unique needs of each individual.
3. Expandlng Partnershlps: Building strong relationships wirh local health
se￿Ice8, rehabs and other chariti88 will be essential in ensuring our services are
effective and reach as many people a5 possible. We wiLi8180 focus on building

relationships with local communitiesto attractfunding. newcollaborators and
prospective service users.
4. Sust¥inAblUty and Growth: As we begin to operate. we will ft)cus on securing
sustainable funding, expandingourfunding base, and establishing iong-term
partnershipsto ensure the sustainable growth and impact of STAR Housing.

While thi5 year has primarily been focused on preparation, the commitment and
enthusiasm ot our trustces and supporters have positioned STAR Housing fora
successful future. We are confident that with the dedication of ourteam. our partners,
and rhe communlry. we will fulfill our mission to support indlvlduals affected by
addiction and improve their health and well-being.
