## **Section C Objectives and activities**

The primary objective of the Friends of Tudor Park and Pavilion is to save and reuse the 1920 sports pavilion gifted to the local community by a local manufacturing company for the health and wellbeing of the community. This requires substantial fundraising, a redesign and repurpose of the pavilions use, repairs to the structure and refit of the pavilion facilities in line with NetZero, environmental, ecological and sustainable principles.

**Summary of the objects of the charity set out in its governing document**

Secondary objective and further aims include subsidised use of the community asset (the pavilion) for local community groups, a place of learning (ecological, environmental and horticultural classes), activities (Yoga, & Pilates etc.), community events and venue hire, a subsidised café. Toilets and changing facilities to support the adjacent sports and recreation ground.

Other objectives include further integration with the surrounding parkland and woodlands to improve the biodiversity, the physical and mental health of residents. Enhance the community identity and connection to their environment.

Prior to starting the friends group Simon Cohen carried out a survey of local opinion regarding the future of the pavilion and park. With this survey and support from the Barnet Society and Cllr David Longstaff, we successfully applied for CIL funding for the repair of the pavilion to the value of £200,000. Since founding the FoTP&P we have held regular open meetings to discuss and define the principal objectives (all have minutes). We have elected FoTP&P officers (Chair, Vice-chair, Treasurer, **Summary of the main** Secretary), all of whom have since become Trustees of the FoTP&P **activities undertaken for the** charity. **public benefit in relation to** We have created a Facebook page, a Website, set up a bank account, **these objects (include within** and a Just Giving account. **this section the statutory** We have twice attended the Barnet Christmas Street fayre in partnership **declaration that trustees have** with the Barnet Society. **had regard to the guidance** We have attended the Cromer Road Primary School Christmas fayre. **issued by the Charity** In July 2022 we held one Bring Your Own Picnic event to canvass **Commission on public** opinion on the future use of the Pavilion. **benefit)** In June 2023 we held our first Barnet Vale Festival, a community event with an environmental theme in partnership with the London Festival of Architecture which included architectural discussions, 20+ stalls of local makers and artists, music and poetry, attended be approx. 500 residents. These events were attended by the Chipping Barnet Member of Parliament and several Barnet Councillors. In September 2023 the London Borough of Barnet issues an Expression if Interest Document (EIO) with regard the Pavilion. The FoTP&P compiled a 45-page response to the EIO and submitted it in November 2023.
