## Thai Children Foundation (TCF) Trustee’s Annual Report

## 1. Charity Overview

- **Charity Name:** Thai Children Foundation (TCF)

- **Registration Number: 1201643**

- **Reporting Period:** 19 January to 30 September 2023

- **Principal Address:** 4 Harefield, Hinchley Wood, Esher, Surrey KT10 9TQ

## 2. Objectives and Activities

## 2.1 Purpose of the Charity

The purpose of TCF, as outlined in our governing document, is to relieve poverty and sickness and to advance education for public benefit in Thailand. TCF aims to improve the quality of life for individuals from socially and economically disadvantaged backgrounds by providing essential resources, including food, clean water, clothing, medical care, and supplementary educational support where these needs are not met by local authorities.

## 2.2 Summary of Main Activities for Public Benefit

During this reporting period, TCF concentrated on establishing a solid foundation to deliver our charitable objectives effectively. Key activities included:

**Development of Grant-Making Policies:** We formulated comprehensive grant-making policies to ensure transparent and effective resource allocation, aligning with our mission to support educational and community initiatives.

**Community Engagement:** TCF engaged with local schools and communities in Thailand to assess needs and identify opportunities for collaboration. This involved recruiting and evaluating potential local contacts to serve as vital links between TCF and the communities we aim to support.

- 1 -

**Networking with Local Charities:** We initiated partnerships with local charitable organisations to understand their work and explore avenues for mutual collaboration, enhancing our capacity to deliver public benefits effectively.

**Brand Development:** Efforts were made to establish TCF’s identity by creating a new logo, updating our website, and expanding our presence on social media platforms. Additionally, we produced and distributed informational leaflets at events in Thailand and the UK to raise awareness of our mission.

## **Continuation of Support for Disadvantaged Children:** In alignment with our

objectives, TCF continued support for a disabled child previously assisted by the AngloThai Foundation (ATF). This included providing financial assistance for the child’s monthly expenses to support her health and well-being. Monitoring and evaluation were conducted through regular reports from a local teacher and an in-person visit to assess the child’s progress.

## 3. Achievements and Performance

## 3.1 Achievements in the Reporting Period

While the formal opening of TCF’s bank account was delayed until 5 September 2023, TCF used this foundational period to prepare for full program implementation. Key achievements included establishing a network of local contacts, developing grantmaking policies, and initiating brand-building efforts. These actions ensure TCF’s readiness for future operations and effective program delivery.

## 3.2 Continuation of Anglo-Thai Foundation (ATF) Mission

Following the closure of ATF, TCF was entrusted with £16,331.25 to continue supporting disadvantaged children in Thailand. We also received another designated fund, which enabled TCF to provide financial support for a disabled child previously assisted by ATF. TCF’s director covered the initial expenses. Ongoing monitoring was conducted through regular reports from a local teacher and an in-person assessment, ensuring continuity of care.

## 3.3 Fundraising and Financial Foundations

While formal fundraising activities were limited, the substantial ATF transfer positioned TCF to commence its mission. Additional funding from donors was received, reimbursing the director for expenses advanced for the child’s support.
