throughout the Sumy reglon. In February 2022, the full-scale Invaslon of Russia Into Ukraine happened. bringing
devastation to the 8r&8. 1th81 was already the pooresl reglon in Ukraine had lo cope ￿1h deeper poverty and the

rnore widety. In January 2023, Hope Lebedyn becam8 an independent Charfty. wlh a focus solety on the work In

with the view to re￿rement follovlng some heallh Issue8. As a result, 8 new Pastor would be sought to join the team
and help Pastor Bohdan wlth the anormty ofth8 work.
Over the past year, th? war ho5 driven local lamilies deeper into POV8ty. increased crimè, and placed futher strain
on infrastructure. Intensff*d drone attacks have brought addtrd pressure lo the Sumy region, wth proh)ng•d power
Cuts leaving people in severe conditions, espeaally during winter. Many working-age r8sident5 have fled, leavlng
elderly and vulnerable people isolated in nearby villages, where the team has bèan able lo provide support. As a
result, demand lor ald and a$$istsn¢¢ In Lebedyn and across the su￿ region is now unprecadantèd.

the summeralongside Svgllana end now helps with th8 c&mps 8nd WO￿ with the young8rchildren, sings tn

Thousands of Bibles and Christlan literature have b8en distributed. especially the Jesus Storybook Bible,
which the childrèn rèally enjoy.

region, wilh many seNing in the fronuine hospitals. Illnesses 8re not gettlng diagnosed, and tre8tmont 1$
hard to find, The team helped one famlty wh088 daughter, Sophla. aged just 11, was di8gn05éd wlth stage
4 cancer. Shè onty lived lor a further 6 weeks, bul the team were able to help the famity through thls time.

cuts.
