Heart-Beats DN22 is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO).  The charity’s purpose is: 

To advance health and the saving of lives for the benefit of the public in the East Midlands, including by: 

- Providing Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) for use by the public 

- Providing training to the public (including in schools and community groups) on first aid and life-saving skills including the safe and effective use of AEDs and CPR 

- Providing education to the public (including in schools and community groups) on heart health issues. 

During 2024, the charity had 7 trustees, listed above.  The trustees oversee the day to day work of the charity. 

During 2024, the charity: 

- Purchased and installed a defibrillator and cabinet at RT Fitness in Ordsall for use by the public 

- Purchased and installed a defibrillator, AED kit and bleed kit and cabinet outside HMP Ranby, for use by the public 

- Purchased and installed a defibrillator and bleed kit at Carr Hill Primary School in Retford for use by the public 

- Co-funded the purchase and installation of a defibrillator and cabinet at Kettlewells, Grove Street in Retford for use by the public 

- Purchased and installed a portable defibrillator at Andy Pandy’s Play Centre in Retford

- Purchased and placed an additional bleed kit for an existing defibrillator cabinet 

- Carried out regular (quarterly) cleaning and checks on the charity’s defibrillators 

- Raised funds for, and awareness of, its work through events and local media 

- Engaged with local organisations to raise awareness of our work and for potential future joint work 

- Mapped defibrillators in our area, to identify where there are gaps 

- Trained members of the public on CPR and defibrillator use – training was provided free of charge or for a small contribution to costs. 

## **Financial report** 

In 2024: 

- The charity’s total income was £10,622.26, from the following sources: 

   - donations & legacies - £2,961.09 

   - fundraising events - £6,927.21 

   - grants - £550 grant for defibrillator equipment in a specific council ward 

   - other activities - £183.96 refunded purchases for items not required. 

- The charity spent £10,218.01: 

   - £6,161.59 on defibrillators and associated equipment 

   - £4,006.42 on fundraising events 

   - £50.00 on training events. 

- The charity’s bank balance at the end of December 2024 was £7,015.78.
