Elsie's Roae wa8 founded followlng the death of Elsie Rose Goukl. aged 13 months. In 2021, El818 had
emergency surgery to draln fluld from a cyst on her braln, caused by a nonrycancerous tumour. Sadly,
Elsie n8ver woke up. In the weeks that followed, Elsle's parents were support8d by famlly and ffiends,
and a Small amount of savlngs. but aftw a few weeks needed to retum to work for financial stabilty.
Elsie's R088 was Set up In her memory to provide financlal Support for famlllo8 of chlldron who have
pas8ed away, or are recelvlng end of life care.
The trust￿8 are re8pon8lble for all d8c181on maklng of the Cha￿ty. Replacement or addbtlon81 Iru8tee8
are appolnted wh8n requlred due to 8 vacancy or an Increa88 In wortload. New trustees are recrulted
for thelr continued Inleregt and wmmltment to improving and expanding Elsle's Ro86 or if they havo a

time-tO•tlme think fit. In pBrtlcular, but not excluslvgty by Ihe provlslon of grants and other fonns of
financlal assistance.
Elsle's Rose has formed close relationshlps with bgth the Paediatric Intensivg Care UnR IPICU) at
Southampton Genernl Hospital, where Elsle was tmted and Julia's House Tho majority of famllle8
needing support are referred to Elsie's Rose via one of these.
C)uring thls perfod, Elsl&'8 Rose has supwrted elght familles, provldlng grant8 and food voucher8 to
help ease some of the flnancial pressures faced by famllies followlng the pa88ing of their chlld.
Appllcatlons for support are revlewed by a votlng committee, who hav8 be8n given delegated declslo
making authority by the trustees. The voting ￿mmIttee is made up offyw truste8s and three volunteers.
Reviewing and concluding on applications is a top Priority for thè trustees and the votlng committee.
Applications are rovlewed withln 24 hours from recalpL
