The charity is a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO) foundation formed on 5 January 2023 and is governed by a constitution.

## **Objectives and activities**
## **The charity's objects**
For the public benefit, to provide or assist in the provision of facilities for the playing of football, in the interests of social welfare, for young people who have need of such facilities by reason of their youth with the object of improving their conditions of life.
## **The charity's main activities**
The main activity is the provision of facilities for playing association football in the Pudsey area. We provide football activities for children from the ages of 3 to 18 and offer opportunities for individuals to develop knowledge and experience in team managing and coaching.
## **Public benefit statement**
In setting our objectives and planning our activities our Trustees have given serious consideration to the Charity Commission’s general guidance on public benefit and in particular the advancement of amateur sport and community development.
## **Achievements and performance**
Through the club’s activities, during 2024/2025 we have provided football related activities to approx. 300 children in the Pudsey area, promoting healthy recreational activities for all our players. The number of teams, players and coaches in the club continues to grow year on year which is testament to the continued work of the club’s Trustees, Managers, Coaches and volunteers who all give up their time for free to the benefit of the club’s players.
The club continue to work closely with Leeds City Council and The Football Foundation to develop the football pitches and the club’s base at Queen’s Park in Pudsey, with funding offered during 2024/2025 for future pitch drainage works, maintenance and the impending provision of a Canteen/Welfare Unit. The Council and the Football Foundation have agreed they will design a suitable scheme of drainage works to be undertaken on the pitches in due course
## **Financial review**
The net payments for the year were £6,238, wholly on unrestricted funds.
We have made a loss for the past two years however the club has taken steps to address this by reducing some of its pitch/facilities hire costs for 2025/2026. Work is currently in progress on a grant application to The Football Foundation to cover a significant portion of the pitch maintenance costs and once this is confirmed, along with the cost reductions, the club should be able to eliminate its losses in 2025/2026.
## **Reserves policy**
The charity's free reserves, at the year end were £31,794.
The trustees have not yet set a reserves policy.

## Independent examiner's report to the trustees of Pudsey Juniors Football
## Club
I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the CIO for the year ended 30 June 2025, which are set out on pages 5 to 8.
## **Responsibilities and basis of report**
As the charity trustees of the CIO you are responsible for the preparation of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 ('the Act').
I report in respect of my examination of the CIO's accounts as carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act. In carrying out my examination I have followed all the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
## **Independent examiner's statement**
I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention in connection with the examination giving me cause to believe that in any material respect:
1 accounting records were not kept in respect of the charity as required by section 130 of the Charities Act; 2 the accounts do not accord with those records.
I have no concerns and have come across no other matters in connection with the examination to which attention should be drawn in this report in order to enable a proper understanding of the accounts to be reached.

## **1 Accounting policies**
## **Basis of accounting**
The trustees have taken advantage of section 133 of the Charities Act 2011 and have prepared the accounts on a receipts and payments basis.
There has been no change to the accounting policies since last year.
No changes have been made to the accounts for previous years.
The previous period's accounts were prepared for the period from 5 January 2023 to 30 June 2024.
## **Taxation**
As a charity the organisation benefits from rates relief and is generally exempt from income tax and capital gains tax but not from VAT. Irrecoverable VAT is included in the cost of those items to which it relates.
## **Fund accounting**
Unrestricted funds are available for use at the discretion of the trustees in furtherance of the general objectives of the charity.
Restricted funds are subjected to restrictions on their expenditure imposed by the donor or through the terms of an appeal.
Further explanation of the nature and purpose of each fund is included in the notes to the accounts.
