The trustees present their report and financial statements for the year ended 31 December
2023.
Oblectlves arnd Activltles
The charity's object Is to advance the Islamlc Shla lthna Asharl falth In accordance wlth the
doctrine5 of Flqh.e-lafeHya for the benefSt of the publlc. Activities Include prayer meetlngs,
religious festivals (such as Arbaeen). lectures, and dissemination of Ilterature.
The trustees confirm that they have complled wlth the duty In sectlon 17 of the Charldes
Act 2011 to have due regard to public beneflt guldance publlshed by the Charlty
CommSsslon.
The charity successfully organ5sed Arbaeen commemorattons and other rellgious events
durlng the year, attended by hundreds of partldpants. These were funded endrely by publle
donatlons.
Flnancial Revlew
Total funds at 31 December 2023 were £105,851,81. Comprlslng bank balances of
É75,459.Bl and the net book value of donated equlpmenr of £30,392 (cost £37,990 less
2023 depreclatlon of £7,598).
Reservos Pollcv
The trustees alm to malntaln unrestrlcted reserves at a level sufflclent to cover at least
three months, core operatlng costs, estlmated between £5,000 and £6,000. As at 31
December 2023, unrestrltted reserves stood ai £75,459.81, which provides a strong buffer.
These funds are allocated toward future Arbaeen processions, loglstic5, venue hire, and
outreach programmes. The reserves pollcy Is reviewed annually In Ilne wlth operatlonal
r5sks and programme plans.
Structure, Governance and Management
The charlty Is governed by its constitution as a Charltable Incorporated Organlsation (CIO).
registered on 29 December 2022. Trustees are appointed In accordance wlth procedures Set
out in the governing document They typically serve a term of three years and may be re-
appolnted. The board revlews its composition annually to ensure it reflects the skills,
experience, and dlverslty needed for the charitys objective5.
The trustees recognlse thelr responslblllty for risk management and maintain an Internal
rSsk register. Key risks identified include event safety. financlal compllance, safeguardin&

and dependence on volunteers. Controls such as publlc Ilab515ty insurance, financial record
checks, and volunteer guidance are In place to mldgate these risks.
Plans for Future Perlod
The charity plans to continue and expand Its annual Arbaeen processlons In 2024, reach
new locations across the UK, and Introduce Yolunteer-led educational and youth
engagement programmes to strengthen community understsndlng and particlpation,
The charlty recelves all Income from voluntary publlc donatlons and does not employ any
professlonal fundraisers. All activlties are made possible by the dedication of over 50
voluntee￿. The trustees deeply value their contrlbutions and express slncere gratitude for
thelr supporL
