## **ST HELEN’S ATHERSLEY**

## **ENDOWMENT FUND**

**A Charitable Incorporated Organization** Charity Commission number: 1201425 Registered: 21[st] December 2022

ORIGINALLY SUGGESTED in July 2022, as the Lady Chapel neared its splendid re-ordering, the idea of a charity to give financial support for its upkeep was formally agreed in October.

The registration process with the Charity Commission was surprisingly quick, and on Old St Thomas’s Day 2022 we became a fully fledged charity. Opening a bank account has, by contrast, been achingly slow. The hurdles, set-backs, mistakes, failures of banking software, and more besides, have succeeded each other as the months have passed. At the time of our AGM on 23.01.24, we do appear to be nearing the end-game.

THE ACCOUNTS for 2023, therefore, are as follows:

Income £0.00

Expenditure £0.00

Balance at the end of the year £0.00

The one benefit of the endless delays is that, on the advice of the bank, we changed our name from ‘St Helen’s Athersley Church Trust’ to ‘St Helen’s Athersley Endowment Fund’, which better expresses our aim and objects. We have also used the trustee meetings to produce statements of policy ready for when needed.

Trustees: Fr Peter Needham : Mr Paul Cunningham Canon Nicholas Turner
