The year 2024 has seen continued progress made at SVR Bewdley with the restoration of MW2047. The newly remetalled crosshead slipper blocks were successfully machined in January and the footplate was given a coat of black gloss paint in February. In May HE686 was finally removed from store and moved back into The Engine House at Highley.

Later in May the leading sandboxes and trailing sand pipes were refitted. In June the leading sand valves were fitted and new sand pipes attached. More restoration work on the underside of saddletank started in August and work also started on machining the new RH crosshead. The Warwickshire nameplates were removed in September and new piston rings were delivered to Bewdley in October followed by

Finance

The financial report for WILPT is attached as an appendix. In an endeavour to counteract the banking industries exceptionally low interest payments for funds on deposit the Treasurer has continued to move money into and out of deposit accounts.
