## **Opening Letter from the Chair of Trustees** 

Welcome everyone to the Healing Hubs Annual Report for 2024/5! 

I became involved with the Healing Hubs back at the start of the journey, before we were a Registered Charity. Signposted by the NHS, my mother-in-law (then diagnosed with Alzheimer’s) began to attend the Meeting Place in Aldershot. It was a chance for her to engage with others in a way that she’d not been able to do for several years, and she gained a lot of benefit from the variety of activities which helped to keep her mind active. My contribution was as a helper and an ad hoc choir leader! When my mother-inlaw was no longer able to attend, I continued to do so and was approached to become a Trustee. 

I have been privileged and proud to be part of the journey from (almost!) the beginning and never cease to be amazed by the inspiration and leadership from our CEO, Sarah. She does, of course, have an excellent team behind her which despite bumps along the way, always manages to keep things on track and moving in a positive direction.

I want to express huge thanks to everyone who has contributed to our e�orts this year, whether it be by giving or raising money, volunteering, or even just spreading the news of the wonderful work that is being done. I know our journey forward will be exciting and positive, and I look forward to being part of it!

## **Aims and achievements** 

Our mission at The Healing Hubs Charity is to provide communitybased services that are designed to maximise mental health and wellbeing for individuals of all ages, with a strong emphasis on crisis prevention. We are dedicated to creating a supportive and inclusive environment where individuals can access the resources they need to thrive and lead fulfilling lives. 

This year we have continued to build our core services of Meeting 


Places, Warm Hubs, Befriending Calls, Companion Home Visits, co�ee mornings and day trips. We have partnered with Silent Storms Charity which supports Men's Mental health by providing regular 'decompression' meetings for their mentors. 

Our Laughter Programme includes a year-long Laughter Campaign which encouraged people to laugh for a minute and upload it to share. We provided Laughter Workshops for both adults and children, as well as delivering training to Laughter Yoga Leaders. We firmly believe in the benefits of laughter which include improved Mental, Physical, Emotional and Social 

System. In a workplace environment laughter can enhance team dynamics, improve organisational culture and reduce sta� turnover.

With the help of our donors, volunteers, and supporters, The Healing Hubs Charity has been able to make a positive impact in the lives of thousands of people. As our charity grows from strength to strength, we firmly believe that we are making a real di�erence to those who reach out.

I report to the trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity (“the Trust”) for the year ended 31.12, 

- **Responsibilities and** As the charity trustees of the Trust, you are responsible for the preparation **basis of report** of the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charities Act 2011 (“the Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of the Trust’s accounts carried out under section 145 of the 2011 Act and in carrying out my examination, I have followed the applicable Directions given by the Charity Commission under section 145(5)(b) of the Act.
