Green and Ables CIO is governed by its constitution as a Charitable Incorporated Organisation (CIO). The trustees oversee the charity’s operations and decisionmaking, ensuring that activities align with the charity’s aims and objectives. 

## **Objectives and Activities** 

The objectives of Green and Ables CIO are to promote social inclusion for the public benefit by working with individuals who are socially excluded due to old age or disability. The charity seeks to alleviate social isolation and foster community engagement through the following initiatives: 

1. Providing a transport service to and from recreational and public services. 



2. Organizing outings and social trips, including transportation to and from home. 

3. Offering recreational facilities and opportunities suitable for the elderly and disabled. 

4. Establishing a local befriending group that encourages and enables participation in the wider community. 

## **Achievements and Performance** 

During the reporting period, Green and Ables CIO engaged in several projects to promote environmental sustainability and social inclusion: 

- **Codicote Rewilding Project** : Developed herb and rewilding areas at the John Clements Sport and Community Centre car park. 20/05/2023 

- **Wildlife-Friendly Hedge** : Created a hedge between the tennis courts at The John Clements Sport and Community Centre and Taylor Wimpey building site. 10/12/2023 

- Insect Photography Exhibition in Peace Memorial Hall, Codicote 24/11/2023 

- **Community Engagement** : Partnered with local charities such as The John Clements Sport and Community Centre, Waste Not Want Not, and Peace Memorial Hall to donate resources and foster collaboration. 

## **Challenges Faced** 

- In engagements with HCC, hard to establish a clear plan for the local grass verges 

- Engaging local residents in community-led environmental initiatives. 

- Securing adequate funding to expand and sustain green and social activities. 

## **Future Plans** 

Due to the active commitments of the trustees in their professional and personal lives, ongoing projects are temporarily on hold. However, there are plans to continue supporting local community gardens in E17 and fostering further environmental and social initiatives.

Green and Ables CIO's primary source of income was from grants, as detailed below:
