During this reporting year, Access to Shine continued efforts to improve educational opportunities at Community Secondary School, Ndi Uduma Awoke. Key achievements include successful fundraising events and construction progress on the new School Hall from substructure till external and internal openings it now fitted with doors and windows. Remaining to complete the project: 🔸Ceiling installation 🔸Flooring (screeding and finishing) 🔸Internal and external painting 🔸Final electrical/finishing works 🔸Final cleaning and handover. The community committee oversaw project monitoring. UK fundraising activities such as community events and partners donations contributed meaningfully to progress. The trustees’ 10K charity run provided an additional source of income during the period, directly supporting the ongoing construction of the school hall, with all proceeds allocated to project development. |

Para 1.20 | During the year, significant progress was made on the construction of the Community Secondary School Hall in Nigeria. The project advanced from the substructure stage to the installation of key external and internal openings, including the fitting of doors and the installation of windows. This milestone represents a major step toward completing the hall, which will provide students with a safe, functional space for examinations, assemblies, and learning activities. Once completed, the hall is expected to greatly improve academic conditions by reducing weather-related disruptions and supporting a more conducive learning environment. The project also contributes to wider societal benefits by strengthening local educational infrastructure and promoting long-term opportunities for young people within the community. |
