This is the second year of a 2 year project to sink a Well to provide water to irrigate the crops and provide clean drinking water for public benefit. The main activities this year were to install the irrigation system to water the crops and to install a tap to provide clean drinking water. Purchase and installation of a 3000 litre water tank . Purchase and installation of solar panels to provide electricity to power the water pump.
In supporting these activities our aim was to raise the remaining amount to meet the cost of £9000 for the completion of the Well project.

This will prevent the time consuming, labour intensive and expense for transporting water by barrel to the site. Thus saving time for other tasks and reduce work load for the workers and ensure a good supply of water for the crops.
In completing the well project we have provided an irrigation system to ensure the crops are watered during the dry season in order to provide pig feed and a benefit to the local community in providing clean drinking water available on tap for all thereby preventing water borne diseases.

We organised a number of fundraising activities during the year and received contributions from friends, parishioners and a local running club. In addition we organised a profitable barn dance event and afternoon tea event. We also participated in a sponsored half marathon running event. These activities helped us achieve our aim of raising the remaining amount this year to cover the full cost of the Well project.
We purchased a 3000 litre water tank, water irrigation equipment, water pump and solar panels. This equipment supported the aims to achieve our objectives to provide an irrigation system to water the crops and provide clean drinking water for the local community. Thus helping the poor children and their families to support themselves by raising pigs to provide a sustainable livelihood for the relief of poverty which is the key aim of the charity.
