Slnce the church opened IV$ doors on Satunlay 18" May
2024 there has been a gradual increase In th• actlvltles that
take place at Bethanla.
On a woekty basis the following athilios take place:.
Sunday worshlp servic•
Coffee momlng
Two Bible study groups. Ono Is In the momlng and
the other is early evenlng to allow for as many people
as posslble to attend.
An aftor school kids club
A class to learn baslc conversallonal welsh.
AA and an Al anon group
Bethanla opens Its doors for an hour and a half a woek as a
Foodbank distribution centre which fomis part of the
Trussell Trust Iniilatlve.
Once every two mnths there Is a webh coffee momlng and
once every 3 to 4 months there Is PAeMy Church.
We have conllnued to ralse awaren￿$ and Introduce
ourselves to the local communty through the dlstrlbutlon of
Christlan tracts whllst hlghllghtlng th• numerous actlvliles
available for people to engage in.

Bethanials the only place of worshlp In Aberfan and
thereforo provkles much needed splrltual help and guldance
through Its Sunday worship servlces and Blble study groups.
The kids club also d•dicatss a portion of its time in sharing a

Activities for children are qulte Ilmlted In Aberfan, therefore
an after School kld$ club for chlldren from Year5 3 to 6 that
free of charye h hugety beneficial to a communlty whlch has
slgnfficant socloweGonomlc challenges.
Feedback from individuals that havo attended either the
coffee morning andlor the welsh language class hav• found
them to be posltfve exporf0nc￿ towards bullding frfendshlps
and finding suppo
The welsh coffee mornlng has provlded an ideal Opwthntty
for those attending the welsh classes and any other
intsrgsted pooplo to come together In a fr18ndty and
supporbve environment to further practiu thoir
convernatlonal welsh over a cup of tea or coff0•. These
momlngs have also been attended by children from both
local primary schools glvlng the chlldren an opportunlty to
soclally Interact wlth older people through the medlum of
webh, and everyone seem to benefft from. and enjoy th•
ex￿￿ence.
We recognlse the Importance of family, so Messy ChU￿h
provldes the ideal Op￿thnIty for chlldren accompanted by
either thelr parents or grandparents to Spend some valuabl•
tlme together playing games. listening to a blblical stOryJ
•ngag• In various crafts and on￿ som• food all of which is
free of charge.
Oponing a Foodbank distribution c•ntr• at Bethania In
Aberfan has provided a much neod•d servlce to the local
Poople who previousty had to travel much further to xcess
thls help. Thls Is especlally welcomed by people who often
do not havo a car or who would otherwlse have to travel
much fvrther on public transport whlch does not appear to bo
as rellable and as

Bethanla's financlal poslllon on the 31" OCto￿r 2024 shows
that all our rtstricted funds which Yds made up of grant
money was used up completely and the only fiinds in the
bank was £9.002 of unreslrfcted funds, which is currenty
suffklent to me•t the running costs of the charlty.
We arn aware ofth• the Charfty CommlsslonS document on
Charity Roserves (CC19) and will bolgd by thls guidanco
when the charfty reaches a posliion to conslder thls.
