Achievements and Performance
| SORP reference | ||
|---|---|---|
Summary of the main achievements of the charity, identifying the difference the charity’s work has made to the circumstances of its beneficiaries and any wider benefits to society as a whole.
Para 1.20 | The Charity has run several projects with the funding that has been received. Inspire2Box has worked with approximately 250 children and young people over the financial year. Projects have supported local community plans and strategies by strengthening community spirit and belonging by bringing together young people from different backgrounds. A safe and trusted space has been provided to connect with each other using physical activity as a means and purpose. The sessions have made the following differences to the lives of the young people who participated: • Stress relief has been an immediate mental benefit. The intense physical exertion involved in boxing has served as a powerful outlet for pent-up stress and frustration. The young people have been taught how to punch a bag and focus on simple combinations which has contributed to them leaving the gym feeling mentally refreshed and emotionally lighter. • Boosting self- confidence – the young people have learnt new techniques, improved their fitness and overcome physical challenges which has left them feeling a profound sense of accomplishment. Anecdotally we are aware that this increased confidence often translates into other areas of life, empowering young people to face personal and professional challenges with greater assurance. |
• Cultivating mental toughness and
---
resilience – the sessions have required
discipline, focus and the ability of the young
people to push through discomfort. The
young people have been taught how to
defend themselves which has provided a
sense of empowerment that is hard to
match. Knowing that they can protect
themselves has helped to alleviate any
anxiety around this as well as increase an
overall feeling of security.
By combining physical exertion with mental
challenge, the sessions have offered these
young people a holistic approach to mental
and emotional well-being, fostering
strength not just in body but in mind and
spirit as well.
