This year was our first as a charity and we offered 8 meet ups across the region ranging from soft plays to parks and adventure settings. Parents came with and without children, depending on the meet up.
We also moved to using Whatsapp Community to create chats that were themed and easier to follow. This allowed us to help parents with DLA claims, School issues and behaviour in different age ranges (i.e. preschool and teenagers). Non-Violent Resistance (parenting style for children who have experienced trauma) techniques were discussed to offer support. One-2-one chats and meet ups were also offered for parents who required someone to talk things through with.
We also had a person run in the Great North Run who ran for our charity – some of the donations came in, in this financial year, to the value of £100.99.
Financial Statement
We started the year with zero funds, as it was our first year as a registered charity. We ended the year with £101.07, largely from donations. We aren’t a financial charity, as we offer peer support rather than financial.
