ROSEBIRD COMMUNITY ASSOCIATION Report of the Trustees Forthe year ended 31 August 2024 The Trustee5 present their report with the financial statements of the charity for the year ended 31" August 2024. The trustees have adopted the provisions of Accounting and Reporting by Charities.. Statement of Recommended Practice applicable to Charities preparing their accounts In accordance with the Financial Reporting Standard applicable in the UK and Republic of Ireland IFR51021 effective I" January 2019. 08JEcfiviES AND AIMS Rosebird Community Hall was opened in 2012 as part of a neSghbourhood centre development located to the 50Uth of Stratford-upon-Avon. The objects of the CIO are to rent and run the Rosebird Community Hall and to hire it out for childrèns parties and for use by local groups, thu5 benefitting the residents of Trinity Mead and Bridgetown and the surrounding aa5 through the provision of facilities for recreation or other leisure time occupation of individua15 who have need of such facilitie5 by reason of their youth. age, infirmity or disablement, financial hardship or social and economic circumstances or for the public at large in the interests of social welfare and with the object of improving the conditions of life of the said inhabitants. During 2022123 the 10 year Section 106 Agreement which enabled the facility to be built and offered rent free came to an end. This meant not only the Rosebird Community A550Clation having to pay rent but a150 a requirement for a lÈa5e to be taken over by the Members to safeguard the future of the hall. In March 2022 the Chairman met with CAVA to discuss the challenges faced by the group. A key issue was thatthe group wa5 not incorporated and théréfore the Committee members were personally liable for contracts and debts. A5 a result CAVA worked with the Committee to guide them through the process of setting up a Charitable Incorporated Organisation and this was registered by the Charity Commission in December 2022. This enabled the Group to become incorporated and no longer personally liable and the Rosebird Community Hall is now much more secure. Management R05ebird Community Assoeiation is managed by the Board of Trustees and Members of the Charity who are responsible for ensuring compliance with both Company Law and Charity Commission requirements.
