l. Objectives and Activities
ObJe¢tives: The primary objective of the Hongkongers City Gospel Cenire in Birmingham is
to supwrt and ease the transition of Hong Kong immigrants In￿ British sociery. This includes
providing essential services such as language classes. cultural orientstiofy and community
integration support, all within a Christian framework. We are committed to helping new
arrivals overcotne challenges related to language barriers. cultural differences. and social
integration. while also sE￿Ing the Gospcl and fosterin8 a sense of community among the
Hongkongus in Birmingharn.
Aetivilies: Throughout the year. our xlivities have centred around providing pradical support
and spiritual guidance to the Hong Kong comrnunity in Birniingham.
Key activities Énclude:
Englisb Language Classes: We estsblished language courses at varying levels.
including a specialised 'Life in the UK, course. to help newcomers improve their
English and better understsnd British culture.
Cultural OrientatlOD Trips: We organised trips. such &$ a day trip to Oxford
University, to edu¢ate Hongkongers about British heritage and history.
CommuDity S¢minars: Regular semiDars and events were held. foc￿1ng on topics like
parcnting, ducati0￿ and adaplin8 to life in the UL
R¢ligious Servieeg: As a Christian Gospel Centre, we have aIso conducted regular
worship services and Bible study groups to support the spiritual needs of our
community.

Aehievemtnts:
Successful Registration xs a Charity: We sUc￿SsfullY registered as a charity on 25th
November 20?2, allowing us to officially operate and expand our setvices.
Community Reach: In ihe past year. over 200 individuals participated in our English
Classes, and attendance at our seminars and cultural trips has been robust. with posilive
feedback from participants.
Expanded Services: We expanded our services to include tailored support for the
specific needs of the Hong Kong community, including assistance with housing and
employment.
Perfornianc¢: Our pcrfonnance is measured by the impact w'e have on our community, as
reflected in th¢ posiuve outcomes reported by those we serve. New arrivals have showll

significani improvement in their English lan¥uagc skills b¥iier understandinb• of British

4. Structure, Governance And Management
Strncture: The14ongkongeTS City GosrKI Centre operales under a Exwd of tru￿e¢s, led by the
Charity Trustee Chair. Rev. Lawrence Law. The board is responsible lor thc strai¢gic direction
and oversight of the charity's operntions.
Governance: Our governance framework is designed to ensur¢ compliance with all legal and
regulalory requirements. while promoting trdnsparency and accountability. The IKiard meets
regularly to review the charity's activities. fuwices. and overa]I wfomiance. ensuting that our
objectives are being met effcciively.
Management: Day-to-day rnanagement of the charity is handled by a team of dedicaicd staff
and volunteers, who work under the guidance of the (ru￿e¢S. Our managemeni prdclices are
foc￿ on delivering high-quality services lo our community. while maintaining efficient and
r¢spon5ible use of resources.

I report to the charity trustees on my examination of the accounts of the above charity for the year ended 05 Apr 2024 

As the charity’s trustees of the Charity, you are responsible for the preparation of 


- the accounts in accordance with the requirements of the Charity Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”). 

I report in respect of my examination of your charity’s accounts as carried out under section 145 of the Charities Act 2011 (“the 2011 Act”).  In carrying out my examination, I have followed the Directions given by the Charity Commission (under section 145(5)(b) of the 2011 Act. 


- I have completed my examination. I confirm that no material matters have come to my attention (other than that disclosed below *) in connection with the examination which gives me cause to believe that: 

   - Accounting records were not kept in accordance with section 130 of the Act or 

   - The accounts do not accord with the accounting records
