Charitable Objects
Truth Planters is governed by a CIO Foundation Constitution.
The Object of the CIO is, for the public benefit, the advancement of the Christian faith and the worship of God in the United Kingdom and overseas in particular, but without limitation, by preaching and the proclamation of the Christian Gospel in a manner compatible with the Statement of Faith and the teaching of Christian doctrine and principles and the printing and distribution of the Bible and Christian literature including video and audio recordings and any other media which is or may become available.
Public Benefit
The Trustees consider that the activities of the Charity are conducted for the public benefit, in particular the advancement of religion as set out by the Charity Commission in its general guidance on public benefit.
Objectives and Activities
In relation to these purposes, the Charity has made grants available to Christian Missionaries in the UK, Hungary and India to help with their travel costs and support their work in their local communities.
The Trustees have agreed that 10% of all income generated by the Charity be donated to support Truth Planters Missionaries with a further 10% gifted to other Missionaries and Organisations whose activities align with the Charity’s Object.
In 2024, the Charity donated £238 was gifted to a missionary in Northamptonshire. A further £393 was gifted to a missionary in Mountain Ash. The charity also made a gift of £250 to an itinerant evangelist who helped the charity with a mission undertaken in Mountain Ash in July 2024.
Truth Planters hosted an evangelist for a couple of weekend events in Mountain Ash where he shared his testimony of how God saved him from a life of crime and the occult. He came and spoke at a men’s fellowship meeting and then an event at Bryngolwg Free Mission where members of the public came.
Throughout the year, the Charity has facilitated weekly men and women’s ministry where biblical teaching, prayer and fellowship are conducted. The Charity also began a care home ministry where Truth Planters volunteers and the local church visited a local care home where they worshiped, taught the bible and spent time with the residents.
On occasions, the Charity has organised street evangelism and provided teaching via its volunteers to local churches on topics relating to relationships and Christian discipleship.
During 2024, the Charity began making plans for a gathering of its missionaries and supporters to take place in June 2025 in the Lake District. This was to provide a chance for connection between Truth Planter missionaries from the UK, Hungary and India as well as supporters to hear first hand testimony of the work being done in these places. In 2024, the Charity received donations of £1,900 specifically segregated for the costs of this event.
The Charity has agreed to take on the ownership of a church building in Mountain Ash. This will be used for a new church plant called Lighthouse as well as a hub for the work of Truth Planter missionaries. The transfer of this asset completed in 2025 and will be reflected as such in the 2025 accounts.
Financial Review
The Charity generated all of its income from donations made by the general public. In 2024, the Charity received donations totalling £5,738.
The Charity’s main outgoings were in the form of gifts to missionaries and itinerant evangelists in line with its objectives.
The Trustees have agreed that the Charity should maintain funds such as are sufficient to continue to carry out its objects. At 31[st] December 2024, the Charity held a cash balance of £5,222.
The Charity does not have any funds in deficit. The Trustees are satisfied that the Charity is a going concern since it has no current or long-term liabilities.
