The Union makes granis oui of funds. l)oth io ¢hur¢hes and interthchurch proje¢ts. and io individuals. It has
established o grants panel whi¢h deals wilh requests from ChU￿h¢S and individu)ls for finan¢ial suppgrt. The
panel meets approximately thrtt times a year. Eight churches received ministerial grant aid during 2023.
The main Achievements And perfomance of tht eharity during the period.
A working group was established to consider lifelong learning opportunilies for Ministers. A meeting of the
Grants panel was held lo consider applicaiions from Churches and Siudents. Four induction services were
held for ne￿ Ministers. Work was undenaken with ihe Inierdenominaiional Safeguarding Panel io ensure (hai
appropriate policies and procedures ￿'ere properl), implemenied in our churches along w'iih DBS checks and
training. Upda￿5 to the Safe¥uarding Handi)ook w.ere circulated. In addition. Ihe Ministry Board Considered
and approved a response prepared bj. the Panel in relation to the Independent Inquiry into Child Sexual
Abuse. Monthly Ministerial SuP￿rt Meetine5 w'ere held over Zooni which offer an opportunity for leaTning,
fellowship and worship. Discusslons commenced in relation to an ini(ialive specifically for youi)ger people.
Fundruising activities during ihe period.
The charity relie5 on investtnent income and on member contributiOll5 to its budget, and also receives gift5
from other donor5, whose support Is valued, aniL on Occasio￿ as ultimate beneficiary in the trust5 for chapel
properties when finally closed for worship.
