Trustees Annual Report and Accounts April 2024 to March 2025 

Murmuration did not open a bank account this year and has received no income and made no expenditure. 

There has however been activity. 

Liz Dorton and Anna Hembury with a number of adult volunteers mounted three selffunded performances of ‘holy upheaval’ at three church-related community facilities in Hull during Advent (December) 2024.  These performances involve a dozen players, puppetry, dance, ‘drama’ and the use of made pieces of set.  There were numerous gatherings and rehearsing at which people of faith and little or none cooperated in creating the production which was seen by 40 to 80 people in each venue.  Many of the participants had little or no prior experience in creation/production and performance of this sort.  The performance were extremely well received. 

Earlier in the year Liz and Anna did a five session pilot of ‘Murm-school’.  The half day sessions enabled people with little or no experience to begin to express their ideas, engage in creative practices and enjoy the beginning of performance in a very safe space. 

In February 25 a performance was made at a community arts event called ‘Mammal Jam’ based on ‘Solar Waltz’ by Cosmo Sheldrake use bees flowers etc created during the event to create a dance to the music in which a dozen people participated. 

By these and a lot of discussion and sharing with others about these ideas, the Trustees consider that Murmuration is fulfilling it purposes without, thus far, the need to raise funds through the charity itself.  Trustees are in fairly to very regular communication with eachother or through Liz and Anna, the principle volunteers.
